Rotary Club of Sparks

Rotary Club of Sparks The Rotary Club of Sparks is an organization of business and professional leaders. Our motto? Service Above Self.

Our group meets weekly and is proud to call itself a nonpolitical and nonreligious organization and to welcome members of all cultures, races and creeds. The Rotary Club of Sparks is an organization of business and professional leaders located in the Reno-Sparks area of Nevada who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and strive to build and develop peace

and goodwill on a local and national level. Membership of The Rotary Club of Sparks represents an accurate cross-section of Reno-Sparks business and professional men and women. Our main objective is service, whether that be in the community, the workplace or throughout the city and the world. Members of Rotary, both in our local organization and worldwide, develop community service projects that address today’s most critical issues, including:

Children at risk
Poverty and hunger
Environmental preservation
Illiteracy
Violence

We also support programs for young people, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students as well as teachers and other professionals, and vocational/career development.

Today was Fishing with Rebecca Day, and what a beautiful day it was in the Reno-Sparks community! This special event provided youth and adults with adaptive needs the opportunity to enjoy the excitement of fishing in a fun, welcoming, and supportive environment. Thank you to all of the volunteers, families, and participants who made the day so memorable. Be sure to check out the many photos attached to this post that capture all the smiles and special moments. And don't forget — all area youth are invited to join us this Saturday for the Sparks Rotary Kids' Free Fishing Day. We hope to see you there for another great day of fishing and fun!

Well, we finally did it! The Rotary Club of Sparks officially "Cut Ties" with President Richard. If you know Richard, you know he is always wearing a nice tie! That's right, in honor of Richard's great year as president of the club we decided the only appropriate way to recognize him was to cut off our ties. Thank you Richard for leading the club this past year.

Today was all about getting outdoors at Sparks Rotary. Our speakers were our own members, Mike Day and Don Welsh. They talked about two programs that Sparks Rotary hosts/sponsors every year. Mike Day gave us an overview of the Maison T Youth Outdoor Skills camp for Northern Nevada youth. Don Welsh got us pumped up about our upcoming Kids’ Free Fishing Days.
