Sparks AYSO - Region 166 We are the Sparks AYSO - Region 166. We are a volunteer run competitive soccer league for ages 4-18. All skill levels are welcome! Area E is part of Section 2.

AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization) was founded in 1964 and its headquarters is based in Hawthorne, California. AYSO is a nationwide, registered, non-profit organization divided into over 900 regions. The organization is dedicated to youth soccer and, at the Regional level, entirely relies on volunteers for its operation. Each region is supervised by a Regional Commissioner and local board o

f directors – all volunteers. This is Region 166, based in Sparks, Nevada. Region 166 is part of a group of regions that make up Area E. Area Directors are responsible for activities of the Regions in their Area, as well as for Area-wide activities. For administrative purposes, AYSO divides the country into 14 geographic Sections based on player population. Section Directors oversee activities in their respective Sections. Sparks Region 166 was established in 1978. In 2010, there were over 1300 players in the program, from ages 4-18. In 2022 Region 166 will have programs for Schoolyard(age 3) – 19U in addition to its VIP (kids with special needs) program.

Clayton Middle School sixth-grader Asher Norvell, who loves to run, is hosting a 5k and raffle to support a nonprofit called 'Miracle Flights,' a group that funds and coordinates travel for kids who need medical care outside their hometowns. Faith Justis reports.

Spring 2026 will run April 6th 2026-June 2026. Registration is open now. Early Bird registration ends March 1st. Registration closes March 14th. Season will start right after WCSD Spring Break.
