This Wednesday evening, May 20th (6:30 - 8 pm) is the Morticulture: Dead trees and their magic! lecture at the Southwick Public Library! This lecture is free but please make sure to register at www.tinyurl.com/deadtrees2026

A massive thank you to all who took part in the roadside clean up and native plant sale this past Saturday!

Thanks to ALL who gave some of their Saturday morning to clean up the roads of Southwick! We also thank everyone who supported our native plant sale! It was so good to see each of you who made it out and we are so grateful for your support and presence! 🌼

Because of the collective effort made by all of us, Southwick's roadsides are cleaner and safer. 🌍

We thank the Southwick Department of Public Works, especially Tim and Keven, for making the pick up of bags possible, and Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) for giving us permission us to make the 3rd annual Spiff Up possible! 💪

We also appreciate the generous donation of a dumpster from Naples Waste Removal as well as Mrs. Murphy's Donuts, Blossoming Acres, Pasticceria Italia Southwick for donating delicious breakfast goodies.

Daily Grind Coffee House and Cafe, Southwick, Massachusetts graciously donated coffee and has hosted our event in their parking lot for three years running. ☕

We also thank Southwick Select Board member, Doug Moglin and Southwick Police Chief Rhett Bannish for their support throughout the event.

A reminder that the 3rd annual Southwick Spiff Up (road side clean up) is happening this Saturday, 5/16!

Drop by the Daily Grind Coffee House and Cafe, Southwick, Massachusetts anytime between 9 to 11 am, have some free coffee and pastries from Daily Grind Coffee House and Cafe, Southwick, Massachusetts, Blossoming Acres, Mrs. Murphy's Donuts and Pasticceria Italia Southwick and we will give you some clean up supplies and you choose where you want to clean up in town!

Due to the rain forecast for tomorrow, the 3rd annual Southwick Spiff Up (road side clean up day!) along with the native plant sale, is POSTPONED and will be happen next Saturday, May 16th, from 9 to 11 am, at the Daily Grind Coffee House and Cafe, Southwick, Massachusetts.

Naples Waste Removal has generously donated a dumpster for us to fill up this Saturday with our collected rubbish from the Spiff Up! Check out this video with one of the SLT's presidents, Dave MacWilliams, imploring us all to collect enough to fill this dumpster up! WE CAN DO IT! 💪💪💪

Come on down anytime between 9 to 11 am this Saturday, May 9 to the Daily Grind Coffee House and Cafe, Southwick, Massachusetts. Enjoy some free donuts and coffee! We will hook you up with rubbish bags and pick up supplies. and then set out to wherever you want to clean in town to meet this clean up challenge!

Join us this coming Saturday, May 9th, anytime from 9 to 11 AM at the Daily Grind Coffee House and Cafe, Southwick, Massachusetts for the 3rd annual Southwick Spiff Up (road side clean up day!). FREE doughnuts and coffee before we set out to do some clean up on Southwick's roads. You pick the location and decide how long you want to stay; even 30 minutes of clean up is super helpful! PLEASE HELP THE ENVIRONMENT AND VOLUNTEER A LITTLE TIME!

Only two weeks to go to the 3rd annual Southwick Spiff Up (road side clean up day!)

Please join us on Saturday, May 9!

It starts at Daily Grind Coffee House and Cafe, Southwick, Massachusetts, 568 College Highway.

Please arrive anytime between 9 to 11 am to say hi ☺, enjoy some free pastries from Mrs. Murphy's Donuts, Blossoming Acres and Pasticceria Italia Southwick and free coffee from the Daily Grind Café, then get clean up supplies and sign up for an area of town you'd like to clean up before we set out to clean Southwick’s roads.

All are most welcome, including from different communities!

Native plants from the Native Plant Trust will be for sale, cash or card, to raise funds for SLT. We will be posting a plant list closer to the date noting the specific varieties and pricing. But we are happy to announce we will have some trilliums for sale (pictured below)! Mother's Day is the next day (Sunday, May 10th); swing by and pick something special up! 💐🌷🪻

Welcome Spring 🌿🪻🌼🐣! The SLT is kicking off the 2026 season with the 3rd annual Southwick Spiff Up (road side clean up day!).

Please come on down to the Daily Grind Coffee House and Cafe, Southwick, Massachusetts anytime between 9 - 11 AM on Saturday, May 9th for free coffee and doughnuts. We will hook you up with supplies for the clean-up of a section of Southwick's roads. Many hands make light work so please join!

We will also be selling native plants from the Native Plant Trust at the Spiff Up to raise funds for SLT's coffers. Mother's Day is the next day, so maybe you can pick up a special plant for the occasion! 🌷

🐆 Welcoming wildlife expert Fran Ryan for a Mountain Lion lecture, sharing valuable insights with 40 attendees. (April 2025)

🌳 Leading the Southwick Spiff Up & Native Plant Sale, offering affordable native plants and collecting 40 full bags of trash, helping keep our town clean and vibrant. (Earth Day 2025 🌍)

🍄 Bringing back a round two of the Mushroom Lecture with Jonathan Franz— another full house, with 50 people attending. (May 2025)

🚶 🌲🍄 Offering a guided Mushroom Walk with mycology specialist, Jessica Benson Evans, giving 25 community members an immersive learning experience outdoors. (September 2025)

The Southwick Land Trust is hosting a FREE mushroom walk with the president of the Pioneer Valley Mycological Association, Jessica Benson Evans on Saturday, 9/27 at 10 AM.

Learn about local varieties of fungi that are commonly seen during this time of the year.

This is a free event, but REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED as we have a limit of 20 places!
