Bell Tower first hit the mailboxes in June of 2017. Why is our Carillon neighborhood publication named the Bell Tower? The origin of the word Carillon is Old French and the definition is a set of stationary bells hung in a tower. Prior to the modern communication methods of today, bell towers were an important part of a community’s daily life. The ringing of the bells was used to announce services
, celebrations, summon people to meetings and make announcements. It has been said the ringing of a Carillon can bind communities together in the subtlest of ways which matches with the mission of our publication, turning neighborhoods into communities and with plans for the Carillon Retail District including Bell Towers throughout the area, hence the reason Bell Tower is our name! Our publication is neighborhood submitted stories. Our community advertisers are hand-selected and vetted, so that residents can feel confident turning to them for services needed. In addition to the monthly publication, Bell Tower gathers neighbors together for fun community events a several times a year.
