We’ve all seen the recent heartbreaking stories of domestic violence taking the lives of women and children across the country. Domestic violence is also a major driver of maternal mortality in the U.S., yet it is often overlooked. It doesn’t have to be this way, and this legislation can help change that!

The Protect Moms from Domestic Violence Act helps keep families safe by:
👉 Supporting research conducted by The National Academy of Medicine to examine how violence impacts maternal health outcomes, including morbidity, mortality, and intimate partner homicide.
👉 Investing in innovative approaches, including culturally relevant education campaigns, to improve maternal and child health outcomes for survivors of violence.
👉 Providing guidance on developing protocols and offering universal education on healthy relationships and intimate partner violence, while strengthening partnerships between health providers and community organizations.

We’re deeply grateful to Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Lisa Murkowski, and Representatives Gwen Moore and Brian Fitzpatrick for their leadership in protecting families from domestic violence.

☎️ Contact your representatives through the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and tell them to protect families by supporting this legislation!
