LOF Adaptive Skiers

LOF Adaptive Skiers is a non-profit organization providing adaptive water and snow ski opportunities. Experience is never a requirement of our participants.

Since its founding in 1992, Leaps of Faith has provided adaptive sports programs for children, adults and veterans with all types of disabilities, at absolutely no cost to the participant. We thank all of our dedicated volunteers, sponsors, donors and supporters for making LOF Adaptive Skiers a premier adaptive waterskiing organization and helping us achieve excellence in serving the disabled community.

Thanks to the Abilis group that came up to Southbury to ski yesterday!! It was a beautiful day with great skiing conditions, and we were very glad that this group got to enjoy it!☀

We had tons of fun with a group from Helen Hayes Hospital yesterday!! Everyone enjoyed the water as well as trying out the sit ski and boom. Thanks to Peter G for organizing the group and thanks to the skiers for bringing good energy and fun!

Today, August 19th, brought us one of the nicest weather days of the year, and we couldn’t have asked for a better day to hit the water!

We were excited to welcome our friends from the Bronx VA and combine them with our local Rocky Hill, CT VA group for a fun-filled day of water skiing. We originally had more than 25 skiers expected, but with a few absences, we ended up with a great group of around 14–15 skiers.

We had a little bit of everything today—boom skiing, sit skiing, boat rides, and tubing! Most importantly, both groups mixed incredibly well, and there was plenty of fun, laughter, and encouragement throughout the day.

A big thank-you to all of our skiers, staff, and volunteers for making today such a great event. We had a fantastic time and can’t wait to see everyone back on the water again!

We had an amazing time today with our participants at our first open event of August! ☀️

It was a beautiful day filled with great people, plenty of sunshine, incredible skiing, and even some fun tube rides to top it all off! 🎿

We had an amazing time with a group from Helen Hayes Hospital on Wednesday!! Their skiing was spectacular and our crew enjoyed their wonderful company. We look forward to seeing them again next summer!! Thanks to Peter G for coordinating the group and to our staff/volunteers for making all of this possible🌊☀

Yesterday we travelled up to Pittsfield, Massachusetts for an offsite event at Camp Russell! Joel and Claire had a great time skiing with their wonderful campers. Claire deserves a special shoutout and big thanks for doing about a dozen runs as a side skier!!

On Wednesday, we hosted a great group of kids from the Penny Doerge Adaptive Academy at Hospital for Special Surgery!! We all had a blast out on the water in perfect weather. Thanks to John from HSS for bringing the group and for many years of partnership to make these events happen for these special kids! We look forward to seeing them again very soon🦋

Reminder: the annual Candlewood East Car Show is this Sunday!! The marina is once again generously hosting this event in support of us and our mission. Come support us and Candlewood East in Brookfrield from 10AM-3PM!! We will have an LOF booth there, so please stop by and say hi🚗🚘

We're excited for the 13th annual Candlewood East Marina Car Show on August 9th!! Candlewood East has been kind enough to host this event in support of us and our skiers for many years. We're extremely grateful for our relationship with them! Come enjoy the show, support us, and visit our tent at the marina in 10 days!🚗
