A round of applause for Team Fisher House Boston 2026!

These four runners have been working towards this accomplishment since well before they were officially given a spot on Team Fisher House Boston in October 2025. Since then, they have run thousands of miles, trained for countless hours, and raised a combined $70,000+!

The impact of this teams Boston Marathon fundraising will change the lives of military affiliated patients and families that have to travel to Boston for our world class hospitals.

Thank you Team Fisher House Boston, we are so proud of all that you have accomplished. There is still time to support Team Fisher House Boston 2026, view their fundraising pages at: https://www.givengain.com/campaign/fhb130

Meet Lucille: Fisher House Boston is an incredible organization that provides free housing for military service members (active duty, guard, veterans, or retired) and their families while they receive treatment at Boston hospitals. Their mission is to keep families together during medical crises, ensuring access to top-quality care while relieving the emotional and financial burden that can come with it.

This cause is especially meaningful to me—my dad and three older brothers are all Marines. My dad served in the Gulf War in the '90s; my brother George is currently stationed at Camp Lejeune as an infantry officer; my brother Joe is attending The Basic School (TBS) in Quantico; and my brother Teddy completed Officer Candidate School (OCS) last summer and will be commissioned upon graduating college this spring.

Seeing the dedication and sacrifice of our service members firsthand has deeply inspired me. Supporting Fisher House Boston is my way of giving back to the people and families who give so much for our country. The work they do extends beyond active service—ensuring these heroes and their families are cared for long after they complete their service.

Please consider donating to support the Fisher House Boston in their efforts to support the servicemen of our country. I am so excited for Marathon Monday and I hope to see everyone at Mile 21!!

Meet Ryan: I'm honored to be running in support of Fisher House Boston because as a Veteran I can truly appreciate the invaluable services they provide in a time of tremendous need day in and day out. During my years on Active Duty the last thing I would want to have to deal with is funding, let alone finding lodging, while one of my dependents' was receiving care at one of the top tier Boston hospitals. I know that just about all of the money that I'm raising for Fisher House Boston goes directly to the recipients of their services due to their marginal overhead. Everything that Jennifer and Abigail are doing for fellow Veterans resonates with me as they work earnestly for the greater good of others. I'm hoping that my participation in the Boston Marathon not only raises additional donations but awareness of this great non-profit organization!

Meet Brad: I’m running the 2026 Boston Marathon for Team Fisher House Boston because I made myself a promise: no one who served should ever feel alone when they need help. Growing up in Westford, I watched the Marathon every year and witnessed a whole city show up for runners and for each other. That spirit, and the events of 2013, pushed me toward service and the desire to be part of something larger than myself.

After ROTC at UMass, I spent six years in the Army, including time as an Army Ranger with two deployments to Afghanistan. In those years, I saw people constantly go out of their way to help others, always reaching for the next challenge together. That kind of quiet, everyday courage stayed with me long after I hung up the uniform. I feel fortunate to have come back mostly intact, and that good fortune comes with a responsibility to support those who didn’t.

Many veterans now face long hospital stays and long-term health complications, visible and invisible. Their families serve in their own way too, sitting at bedsides, managing jobs and kids and bills while someone they love fights to recover. I think often of Vietnam veterans who came home to struggle and stigma, and I am determined that this generation will not face that alone.

Meet Aaron:
I’m running the Boston Marathon for Fisher House Boston because, as a veteran of the Army, this mission is deeply personal to me. I live in Natick and continue to serve by working for the Army, so supporting fellow service members and their families is a big part of who I am. Boston is a city that truly takes care of those who served, and I want to help ensure that every veteran who comes here for medical care never has to worry about where their family will stay. Our service members showed up for us when it mattered most and this is a way to show up for them, by supporting a place that keeps families close during some of the toughest moments of their lives.

Thankful Thursday!

“There are no words to express my deep appreciation for the lodging assistance from Fisher House Boston.

When my brother was facing a very serious cardiac surgery. I knew he was worried about surviving it. He never married, no kids, and our parents are deceased. I wanted to be by his side to support him and advocate for him, if needed.

I flew across the country to be with him, but I would not have been able to afford staying in Boston while he recovered in the hospital. Being a daily presence with him certainly aided in his recovery. I am forever grateful for that opportunity.

Thank you again for your generosity. My brother served in the Navy and later in the Merchant Marines during the Middle East war and conflicts. Thank you for supporting our veterans and their families in their time of need.”

Fisher House Boston is proud to share a note of thanks received from a family supported by Fisher House Boston last year. We can only do what we do with generous support from our community. If you have ever supported Fisher House Boston, this thank you is as much for you as it is for our team. THANK YOU!

Fisher House Boston is deeply saddened to share the news of Abel Taylor's passing. Most of our community will recognize Abel from our posts/signage... how could you not with such a handsome guy?! Abel was a warrior who had the brightest smile! His family has been part of our 'Fisher House Boston family' since his birth, and our hearts are heavy with this loss.

Please keep Abel's family in your thoughts! We love you Taylor Family!
