The Haven Play Cafe should probably let everyone know who we are and why we are doing what we’re doing!
Kelly and Kyle Schriner are the owners of The Haven Play Cafe. We are dedicated parents of three beautiful children, Owen, Charlotte and Mack!
Through raising our own young children, we have firsthand insight into the needs of families with infants, toddlers, and young children. We understand the importance of safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environments, as well as the need for spaces where caregivers feel comfortable, supported, and connected. This personal experience played a significant role in inspiring the concept for The Haven Play Cafe.
Kelly is a Human Resources professional with South Haven Public Schools. In her role in Human Resources, she has developed strong skills in organization, communication, staff management, and operational structure. Her experience working within a public school system has also provided valuable exposure to the needs of children and families within the South Haven community, further reinforcing the demand for accessible, year-round resources for early childhood engagement. With both personal and professional experience centered around families and community, Kelly brings a well-rounded and deeply informed perspective to the development of The Haven.
Kyle brings a unique combination of engineering expertise, problem-solving skills, and hands-on craftsmanship to The Haven Play Cafe. As a Tooling Engineer, he has built a career focused on precision, innovation, and creating efficient solutions to complex challenges.
While Kelly leads the business as Founder and Owner, Kyle plays a key role in the planning, construction, and development of the space, overseeing many of the build-out projects that are helping bring the vision to life. His attention to detail, technical knowledge, and dedication to quality ensure that the cafe is not only functional and safe but also thoughtfully designed for families to gather, play, and connect, helping transform the vision of The Haven Play Cafe into a welcoming community destination for families.
As both parents and community members, Kelly and Kyle are deeply invested in creating a space that serves local families in a meaningful way. Their vision for The Haven Play Cafe is to establish a trusted, community-centered destination where children can learn and grow through purposeful play, and caregivers can find connection, support, and a sense of belonging.
