It’s official- I finished my Eagle project!

I completed a site inspection with the Recreation Director, Mr. Brogan, yesterday.

Tonight, Supervisor Fish signed off on my project.

I can't thank everyone enough for your help and support with my Eagle Project.

I want to thank Supervisor Fish, Councilman Stewart, Councilman Donahue, Councilman Noonan and Councilman Killian for working with me on this project.

I also want to thank the Supervisors Secretary, Mrs. Elizabeth Bennett, for helping me with administrative tasks and of course being a great cheerleader for the project.

It was a pleasure working with all of you.

I hope you enjoy the Garden! ❤️

The “Blessing Box” is officially open!

The window on the box reads, “Take what you need, Leave what you can.” This box provides anonymous access to food.

I added this food donation box to help address food insecurity in our community. I feel that everyone should have access to food and fresh vegetables.

Please help in keeping this box full for our neighbors in need. If you harvest more in your garden than you can use, feel free to drop it off in the box.

Thank you to my grandfather for making my design a reality!

Thank you to my family for working together to install it at the site.

Thank you to my Aunt , Tina Gleason, for lettering the window.

Thank you to my parents, John and Marion Kibling, for filling the box with food.

Thank you to the Town for letting me add the blessing box to the project and fulfilling a bigger mission for the site.

Hey businesses owners! Are you looking for a team building exercise for your staff? Consider planting a garden and donating the harvest to our neighbors in need. We have everything you need at the community garden- garden boxes, tools, seed, water, and the donation box. All you need to supply is your team! Stop by the Town Recreation Office (yellow house next to the garden) to reserve your garden box.

One of my goals for the project was to create a space that was accessible for everyone and did not have any financial barriers to participate. With this goal in mind, I am pleased to remind everyone that use of the garden boxes is free. Also, I have various garden tools and starter seed that are free to use as well. You can stop by the Town Recreation Office (yellow house next to the garden) for access to the boxes, tools and seeds.

Healthy food and recreational opportunities should be accessible to everyone!

Happy gardening!

I want to thank Pettey’s Sawmill for their generous donation to my Eagle Project. Mr. and Mrs. Pettey’s offered to help me without hesitation and are the nicest people you will meet. The lumber to build the donation box, garden boxes and sign frame came from their sawmill. Please support this wonderful family at Pettey’s sawmill. I appreciate your support and wish you all the best.

The sawmill is located at 154 Edie Rd, Gansevoort, NY 12831.

I have an amazing project update… the pergola has been built!

I want to thank Tim Donbeck of TJD Construction for donating your time and hardware to help build the pergola for my Eagle Project.

Mr. Donbeck was my cub scout den leader for 3 years and continued to take us on high adventure trips, camping outings and a lot of fun activities for the past 7 years with the Troop. Thank you for supporting me on my path to Eagle. I couldn't think of a better person to help me build the pergola. Thank you for everything Mr. Donbeck.

I also have to thank my family for continuing to show up to help with my project!

***note- the pergola was built with pressure treated wood and can't be stained for a year. I purchased the stain and brushes that will be donated to the Town. I'll be back in a year to finish the job!

Check out the Community Garden sign that was installed this morning!

I would like to thank Hunter Kenyon who is a student in the Graphic and Visual Communication Program at WSWHE Boces SAEC. I gave Hunter a lot of ideas for the community garden sign and his design far exceeded my expectations. It was a great experience working with Hunter! He was gracious enough to take on this project, even though we have never met, and continued to work with me until we were both happy with the end result. Good luck in the future Hunter, you are really good at what you do! I appreciate you spending a lot of time on this design in the midst of senior year and finals. It was extra special working with another student on the sign design. Not bad for a couple of teenagers!

I would also like to thank Jim Parker from Parker’s Designs who printed the graphics and made the sign. Thank you for being a great person to work with! I know it wasn’t smooth working with a couple of high school seniors and then getting a panicked email from me about my looming deadline. Thank you for making my project a priority even though you are really busy. I appreciate you taking my phone call and agreeing to help even though we hadn’t met before. In order for an Eagle Project to succeed, it takes people like you who offer help (and rush to meet deadlines). There are plenty of stories in the scouting world about projects being finished just before the deadline… iykyk. I am very grateful for your help. You came through for me big time, and just before the deadline.

I also need to thank my grandfather Fred Jarvis who has always shown up for me when I needed him. The sign brackett is incredible! Building this project with you will be a forever memory. Love you lots papa!
