Kiwanis Club of Halifax County We are forming a new Kiwanis Club in South Boston, VA!

We’re a new Kiwanis club working to change the future for children in South Boston.

Kiwanis exists to help children around the world. Some popular projects that help kids include installing reading rooms in schools, packing backpacks with school supplies and programs that teach skills or provide safety lessons. The members of this new Kiwanis club will look at the needs of children in the community and decide the projects that will benefit local kids.

Thank you Dwight Spangler for speaking at our meeting last night. It was great to hear about the preservation of our history in the Revolutionary War. There will be lots of excitement when the statue of General Nathanael Greene is standing beside the Dan River- the turning point of the war.

Halifax County residents are fortunate to have access to such a wonderful organization as Team 977 Cometbots. Thank you Team 977 Cometbots, for sharing the many opportunities available for youth and adults to participate, learn and support your organization.

Through robotics, our community has the opportunity to build more than robots. Participants develop problem-solving skills, teamwork, creativity, perserverance, and confidence. These are meaningful skills that can make a lasting impact on young people and our community.
