The Meow Mission We Fix Forgotten Felines The Meow Mission is a group of volunteers who deeply respect our community cats’ right to life.

We are dedicated to advocate for the protection and humane treatment of cats. The Meow Mission is dedicated to educating the public on the vacuum effect – a natural phenomenon where catching and killing free-roaming cats simply allows a new influx of cats to move in and replace those that were killed. Exterminating these cats is a futile exercise; in addition to being inhumane and unnecessary, this archaic, brutal practice is costly to the community.

RAINBOW BRIDGE REMEMBRANCE DAY 🐈🌈🌉

Today, on Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day 🌈🌉, we are remembering community cats that are no longer with us 🌈❤️.

Each one of the community cats 🐈🏘️ 🐈‍⬛ touched our lives, the lives of their caretakers 🏡, and others.

Take a moment to remember those you have loved and lost 🐈🐈‍⬛🌈🌉.

We've suffered a lot of loss lately at the Meow Mission 🏨. We've helped too many community cats cross over the Rainbow Bridge 🌈🌉 this summer. It is a great privilege and responsibility to do this sorrowful part of our work, but it's one that's important and needed.

It takes its toll. And yet, we carry on...for them.

Something beautiful is taking shape at the Meow Mission and we want to take the opportunity to tell you about it.

We are planning a small Memorial Garden 🌈🪨 for those we have lost. We look forward to sharing it with you as it unfolds.

Today just feels like a good day to share. We hope it's healing. For us and for you.

Here's to all these beautiful souls who have gone on before us and to the countless more up there 🌈🌉.

MOMMA GIVES THANKS 😺💙

Beautiful Momma kitty 😺 was returned to her caretaker 🐈💨 and is settled back in at the campground 🏕️🚐 she calls home.

She's had many litters 😔, but that all behind her now. She was spayed 🐈🪡 through our Trap-Neuter-Return program. Her spay was covered by a Pet Friendly license plate voucher 🚗🐶🐱🐾🧾.

Thanks to Pet Friendly Services for all you do across the state of Indiana💙. Momma thanks you 🐾💙. We thank you 💙.

Donnie's 🐈‍⬛ searching everywhere🔎 👀 for empty litter buckets and can't find any because we are OUT!

We need your empty Tidy Cat litter buckets! We use them to scoop litter boxes 💩 for our resident and kenneled cats.

MALTA GOT MOVES 🥰😻🐈

Community 🏘️ kitten Malta 🐈 has been staying with us 🏨 while his fractured leg heals ❤️‍🩹. Kittens are so resilient and quick to heal from fractures. So given time ⏳, as you can already see he's on his way, he will be as good as new.

Malta was neutered ✂️🥜, vaccinated💉, given flea prevention 🦟 and ear tipped through our Trap-Neuter-Return program for community cats 🏘️ across Michiana ❤️.

LUCY THEN 🐣 AND NOW 🎓😺

Lovely Lucy 😻🥰 joined the Meow Mission 🏨 Alumni Club 🐈🎓 yesterday!

The transformation of little Lucy from July 1 to yesterday is stunning 😲! What a beauty that little fluff all is growing up to be 😻.

Lucy will never have to experience the relentless, dogged advances of male tomcats 🐈💨🐈‍⬛💨. She'll never give birth. She'll never lose kittens who are all as beautiful as her.

We won't pretend that the life of a community cat is easy. So many dangers and threats lurking out there for them 🦊🚗.

But for Lucy, think of what her life can now look like being spayed at a young age 🎱. Think of all that she will never have to endure 🥹.

And most importantly, Lucy will never contribute to the overpopulation of free roaming cats in our community 🏘️. That generational tradition ends with her 🙌.

Bravo Lucy👏! Bravo Lucy's caretaker 👏!
