🚨Legal experts warn Somerville Government that an enacted ordinance would face immediate lawsuits.🚨

As forewarned by residents and even the city solicitor's office, last week’s hateful boycott ordinance raises serious constitutional concerns and causes real harm to local families as residents report harassment and vandalism, with some already having left the city. Shalom Somerville welcomes letters today by ADL and Louis D. Brandeis Center formally urging our city to reject the hateful boycott ordinance brought forward last week.

We call on our mayor and council to stop letting this kind of jockeying into our city, and spare our city the expense, embarrassment, and strife it causes.

This measure is illegal and will do nothing to help Somerville—only cause trouble for our community. While families are struggling with medical bills, potholes, and SNAP benefits that can't keep up with inflation, this ordinance won't address any of those real challenges. ✊ Wear 💙BLUE💙 and join us TOMORROW NIGHT at Somerville City Hall to oppose the proposed BDS ordinance. The City Council meeting begins at 7:00 PM, but doors open at 6:30 PM—come early to line up with us and secure your spot! We ask that everyone be respectful and thoughtful; our goal is to influence the Council to reject this proposal, and comments perceived as hateful can weaken our arguments.
