Thank you to those who purchased the STAR certificates. They were all delivered this past week and we raised approximately $800! These funds will go to the TSF Innovations in Education Grant Program. Awards to SPS educators normally range from $500-$1000. Every dollar helps! We just completed a spring round. Hello Somerville Public Schools Families from The Somerville Foundation:
The end of the school year is approaching fast! (last day June 18th) If you would like to recognize a special teacher or staff person at your child's school for all their hard work this year, please consider honoring them with a STAR certificate from The Somerville Foundation (TSF). You may purchase a STAR for $20. Discount available for multiple STARs, 5 for $80. Each recipient receives a beautiful certificate with your name and a personal message. We will deliver the certificates for you. The message can be from yourself or your child.
Every dollar of your donation will go to TSF's Innovation in Education Grant Program that provides our children's schools with funding for educators to develop and implement innovative instructional methods, acquire additional teaching materials, as well as pilot new technology and community partnerships in the classroom. We are currently offering a new round of grants for educators to use next year. For our last round in 2024, TSF awarded over $6,000. Your help will make a huge difference!
