Healthier Somerset was founded as a coalition convened by Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset created to improve the health and well-being of all who live and work in Somerset County. Since 2010, Healthier Somerset has been working to identify health needs in the community and to create collaborative partnerships that will improve the physical and mental health of everyone who lives a

nd works in Somerset County. Somerset Medical Center, now RWJ Somerset, supported the initial research on community health needs and convened the meetings that led to the creation of Healthier Somerset

We’re excited to announce that Healthier Somerset has been awarded a grant from Somerset Hills Community Health Foundation to support My Healthy Vegetable Patch.
This funding will help expand access to gardening supplies, indoor growing kits, nutrition education, and culturally and linguistically appropriate resources for food-insecure residents in Somerset County.
Through this program, individuals and families—especially in Bound Brook—will have more opportunities to grow their own healthy, culturally relevant produce, build skills around nutrition and food preservation, and strengthen long-term food security and wellness.
We are thankful to the Somerset Hills Community Health Foundation, a Donor Advised Fund at the Foundation of New Jersey, for investing in this important work to support the health and wellness of our community. Together, we are building a Healthier Somerset for all.

The Arc of Somerset County serves individuals with developmental disabilities and their families from birth through the senior years of life through our many programs and services. Today, more than 1,400 children, adults, and families are supported.
