Saturday, April 18th marked a milestone I won’t soon forget — Pack 79 held its very first Cub Scout Bridging Ceremony.

We celebrated a year full of growth, adventure, and determination. The boys earned their ranks, received their awards, and proudly crossed the bridge into their next chapter — new neckerchiefs and slides in place, standing just a little taller than the year before.

To the parents: thank you. Your time, support, and steady encouragement are the quiet engine behind everything these Scouts accomplish.

To our Pack: what we built this year wasn’t just a program — it was a brotherhood, a proving ground, and a place where boys learn what they’re capable of.

This is just the beginning. Pack 79 is just getting started!

We’re already looking ahead, and we’d love to have every one of you back with us as we continue to grow, explore, and build something special together.

Here’s to year one — and to everything still ahead.

On Saturday, February 7th, 2026, Pack 79 visited the Mills Springs museum. We were given awesome tour by Mr. Hill who was extremely knowledgeable. We saw the remains of the Zolli tree, learned about General Zollicoffer, and it was explained how the Mill Springs battle was a pivotal part of the Civil war. We had a blast! Oh and we learned about cannons too! At the end, the Scouts were sworn in as junior rangers!

Special thanks to those who braved the cold on Saturday helping us lay wreaths on the graves of our honored veterans and their families at the Mills Springs National Cemetery Wreaths Across America event.

Special thanks to the Firemen at Somerset Fire Department for giving us a tour of their station. The Firemen could not have been more welcoming. The Cub Scouts of Pack 79 received great information on fire and general safety. We were shown a lot of really cool equipment too. Thank you Somerset Fire Department for the tour and working hard every day to keep our community safe!

💪 Cub Scout Pack 79 had a great meeting tonight!
Our Scouts showed their strength and determination as we worked on physical fitness. 🏃‍♂️🤸‍♂️

A Scout is brave – and these Scouts proved it by pushing themselves and encouraging each other every step of the way. 💚💛
