We hope you’ll take a moment and read Hanks obituary.  Hanks life was both down-to-earth genuine and larger-than-life - whether you knew Hank or not, we hope you’ll be inspired by the man he was and his legacy. 

Hank Parke was a member of the Somerset, Inc. board., where he and his wonderful wife, Linda, served to support the creation of Trinity Park and offered ready mentorship to our staff.

Hank approached leadership from a place of empathy and understanding. He knew and loved the people that he served in his various roles. We were enriched by the advice, guidance, and genuinely kind spirit of Hank.

We offer our deepest condolences to Hanks family and a recommitment to strive to carry on a piece of that legacy in community building.

Celebrate the life of Henry "Hank" Black Parke and join others in sharing memories, stories, and condolences.

We received a special donation in memory of Chief Cox, a beloved member of the Somerset community and one of the people most responsible for the growth of Light Up Somerset. Chief Cox was a joy to work with and he truly took pride in standing alongside his community members while keeping them safe. He would help cover the traffic control at the post office intersection, coordinating people and vehicles and getting us through the early hiccups of the parade while transitioning to the first evening street closures. It is so fitting that the light from this tree will shine over the area where he shared his light with so many people.

We're getting closer to the goal of buying all new lights for the Christmas tree at the Courthouse! Thank you for you all the shares and attention on this post- we are so excited to raise these funds and celebrate with all of you when the tree lights up this year!

Mark your calendars! This year, Mountain Craft Days will be held on September 11, 12, and 13.

Join us for this three-day outdoor festival featuring over 125 crafts persons, artisans, and entertainers preserving the rural heritage of western Pennsylvania. Guests will enjoy a variety of historic demonstrations, musical performances, and traditional foods.

The festival opens at 10 am and closes at 5 pm each day. Admission fees apply. We can't wait to see you there!
