Hillary Clinton recently issued a stark warning to gay couples: "They will do to gay marriage what they did to abortion." With the Supreme Court potentially hearing a case that could overturn marriage equality, Clinton's not sugarcoating it. She's telling couples to get married now, before it's too late.

"It took 50 years to overturn Roe v. Wade. The Supreme Court will hear a case about gay marriage. My prediction is they will do to gay marriage what they did to abortion. They will send it back to the states."

Her message to committed couples? "You ought to consider getting married. I don't think they'll undo existing marriages, but I fear that they will undo the national right."

The threat is real - some homophobic county clerk named Kim Davis is asking the Supreme Court to trash the landmark 2015 ruling that gave us nationwide marriage equality.

Clinton sees the pattern: the same conservative playbook that killed abortion rights is now targeting our marriages. And she's warning us not to wait around to find out if she's right.

A federal judge in Tennessee on Friday temporarily halted the state’s new law that criminalizes some drag performances, hours before it was set to take effect.

NOTE: When having a conflict between citizens and a state, commonwealth, or territory, the federal government is often the mediator.

Judge Thomas Parker cited constitutional protections of freedom of speech in issuing a temporary restraining order.

“If Tennessee wishes to exercise its police power in restricting speech it considers obscene, it must do so within the constraints and framework of the United States Constitution,” Parker wrote.

“The Court finds that, as it stands, the record here suggests that when the legislature passed this Statute, it missed the mark,” he wrote.

Governor Bill Lee, a Republican, signed the novel bill into law March 2. It was set to effect Saturday.

The first-of-its-kind law bans “adult cabaret entertainment” on public property or in locations where it could be viewed by a minor.

The law has sometimes been referred to as a drag ban.
