STEM lives at your house too!

You don't need a lab to find STEM. Just look around your home:

Kitchen: Baking soda makes cakes rise and sugar caramelizes. That's Science!


Thermostat: It senses the temperature and switches the heat on or off for you. That's Technology!


Door hinges & shelves: They hold weight, swing smoothly and stay sturdy. That's Engineering!

Laundry day: Measuring detergent and timing the cycles. That's Math!


Houseplants: Light, water and photosynthesis make them a mini science experiment on your windowsill .

When kids learn to spot STEM at home, curiosity doesn't stop when the school bell rings. That's the kind of everyday learning great STEM teachers spark around the world.

STEM SQUAD: ASSEMBLE - Thank you STEM Educators!

Research shows girls' interest in STEM often peaks around age 11, then starts to decline if it isn't nurtured and reinforced.

The good news: small moments matter. A teacher who says "you're good at this," a hands-on project that sparks curiosity, a mentor who looks like them, these can shift the trajectory.

Here's what we know works: girls who know a woman in STEM are far more likely to feel confident pursuing it themselves, and girls who get hands-on STEM experience before high school are 50% more likely to major in it in college.

The gap isn't about talent. It's about access and encouragement, and we can close it.
