🔵🟡 ROTARY FUN FACT! 🟡🔵

Every great journey starts with a few people and a big idea!

Did you know? 🤔 The very first Rotary Club was founded on February 23, 1905, in downtown Chicago, Illinois!

Paul P. Harris brought together three business acquaintances, and together they started something BIG!

🔵 Rotary in Action! 💛

Yesterday’s meeting, 14th October. Our club was delighted to welcome Debbie Messano, sponsored by Tim Supple!

We also completed our “Meal in a Bag” mini-project in support of Share the Table. Members assembled barbecue chicken burrito bowls with chicken, rice, beans, corn, and sauce to help support those in need in our community. Thank you, Pam Honeycutt and Pam Gontram.

We’re proud to come together to serve others and make a difference 💙

Another great Rotary meeting yesterday, October 7th!

We were honored to welcome District Governor Shawn Braswell, and past District Governor Andy Young, who had the privilege of recognizing our very own Dennis Murphy and his wife, Debbie, for their generous commitment to The Rotary Foundation. Their generosity and dedication truly embody the spirit of “Service Above Self.” 🔵🟡

Shawn also shared exciting updates about the future of Rotary.

Our Rotary Club had a productive meeting on 30th September, with plenty to celebrate and even more to look forward to!

Thanks to the generosity of our members, I’m excited to share that we have reached our Cottage Fund goal for the Lake Waccamaw Boys and Girls Home! A private non-profit agency that provides a safe, healing environment and specialized care for children and families facing trauma, abuse, or neglect. We also discussed ways to strengthen our planning and preparation for the 2027 King Mackerel Tournament.

Ernie Finch shared information about the criteria for applying for this year’s grants. We’re also grateful to have received district matching funds to support our current grant projects, which focus on shopping for children and providing food for local families in need.

We welcomed our newest member, Gregg Martin, sponsored by Dan Wingate. Welcome to Rotary, Gregg!

The Rotary Club of Sneads Ferry jumped in again this year to help cook the shrimparoo dinners at the Shrimp Festival. We are people of action who serve our community, Nation and world.
