555th Honors Detachment

555th Honors Detachment Honoring our fallen and promoting patriotism through full military rites and Color Guard services.

Founded in 2000, the 555th Honors Detachment (“Triple Nickel”) is a 501(c)(3) all-volunteer veterans’ organization that provides full military rites at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery and private cemeteries across six counties. Our members are veterans from all branches of service, proudly wearing their uniforms and conducting services with military precision and protocol. We also provi

de Color Guard support for parades, schools, and community ceremonies honoring our nation’s flag. We are supported only by donations and contributions, which help us assist veterans in need and maintain our equipment. Membership is open to honorably discharged veterans with their service uniform.

🇺🇸 Meet the Members – 555th Honors Detachment

Today we recognize SGT Kurt Garrison, who served in the United States Air Force from 1981–1985.

Kurt has been a member of the 555th Honors Detachment since 2019 and has taken on nearly every job within the organization.

Whether it’s helping with ceremonies, stepping into a position that needs filled, or simply doing whatever needs to be done, Kurt is always willing to help.

We’re proud to have him on the 555th team and grateful for his continued service to our veterans. 🇺🇸

🎖️ Did You Know? 🎖️
The "5" in the 555th symbolizes the five military services. The three 5's are symbolic of the three Boyer brothers — Lloyd, Arden, and Elton — who proposed forming the unit. That's how "The Triple Nickel" got its name. 🇺🇸
