555th Honors Detachment

Honoring our fallen and promoting patriotism through full military rites and Color Guard services.

Founded in 2000, the 555th Honors Detachment (“Triple Nickel”) is a 501(c)(3) all-volunteer veterans’ organization that provides full military rites at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery and private cemeteries across six counties. Our members are veterans from all branches of service, proudly wearing their uniforms and conducting services with military precision and protocol. We also provi

de Color Guard support for parades, schools, and community ceremonies honoring our nation’s flag. We are supported only by donations and contributions, which help us assist veterans in need and maintain our equipment. Membership is open to honorably discharged veterans with their service uniform.

Today we recognize CPT Carl Byron (O-3), who served in the United States Army from 1983–1991 as a Field Artillery Officer, with primary duties in guns and secondary duties in rockets.

Carl serves with the 555th Honors Detachment as a Tribute Reader, helping ensure that each veteran's service and sacrifice are honored with dignity, respect, and remembrance.

Through his words and dedication, Carl helps provide a meaningful tribute to the veterans we are privileged to honor.

In addition to honoring veterans, Bryan has participated in the 555th's school outreach programs, teaching elementary students how to properly fold the American flag and sharing the history of our National Anthem.
