On April 7, 2026, actives, provisional, life and associate members of Junior Auxiliary of Slidell gathered for our annual Installation Dinner. This event celebrates the accomplishments of the service year and officially welcomes the new board and members for 2026-2027.
✨The highlights of the year:✨
20 Active Members
2120 hours of service
9 members attended Southern Area Meeting in Hattiesburg
2 attended Annual Education Conference in Nashville
$4000 in scholarships to 9 seniors
Rachel Neal, President 2025-2026, shared “it has been an absolute honor to serve you this year and I want to extend sincere heartfelt thanks for the work you poured into our organization and community.”
Our chapter awarded the following GEM (Going the Extra Mile) Awards:
💕Pink Topaz for ongoing education throughout the service year was awarded to Beth Kelly with 28 hours of education including attending AEC.
❇️Emerald for achievement in fundraising was awarded to Nicole Smith.
🔹Sapphire for sisterhood was awarded to Candace Moten for elevating the spirits of everyone she encounters.
♦️Ruby for fiery passion for bettering the lives of those in need, as confirmed by having accrued the most service hours was awarded to Kara Clark for her 73 hours of service.
💎Diamond for our strongest worker. This award is selected by members and represents dedication to the chapter through regular meeting attendance, willingness to assist and uplift all projects and committees, and dependability for getting things done. We were proud to award this to our Fun Day with JA Chair, Danita Cummings, and celebrate her 183 service hours to our chapter and community.
🎉We welcomed 3 new active members. Misha Sanders, Porshea McMillian and Kelly Songy took their oath of membership. Kelly was awarded Outstanding Provisional.Their provisional project, Disconnect to Reconnect, was adopted by the chapter and will return in 2026-2027.
🎓We celebrated our graduate, Cathy Baker, who has completed her 5 year commitment to Junior Auxiliary and officially became a Life Member. We wish her well in this new chapter of life.
We thanked our outgoing executive board and officially handed the gavel over to our incoming president, Trina Gibson.
In her inaugural message, Trina shared her vision for our upcoming service year with a focus on growth and meaningful impact. “My hope is simple: that we lead with unity, serve with excellence, and leave every project, partnership, and person better than we found them.”
