To the men and women of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriffโ€™s Office, thank you. For the long shifts, the hard calls, and the courage it takes to answer when seconds matter most, this parish is safer because of you.

And thank you to the people of St. Tammany. You paid attention, you showed up, and you stood with the deputies who stand watch over all of us. Thatโ€™s what makes this community what it is.

The 4.31 mills for the St. Tammany Sheriff's Office is ๐—”๐—น๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐˜† ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—ฏ๐—ถ๐—น๐—น. ๐—ฌ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐˜†๐˜€ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐˜€๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฒ. Nothing added. Nothing goes up.

If it fails, and the Sheriff's Office loses ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฌ% ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—ถ๐˜๐˜€ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ โ€” 142 personnel, 70 of them patrol deputies. The people who come when you call 911.

This isn't about paying more. It's about keeping what already protects you.

The renewal is on the ballot ๐—ฆ๐—ฎ๐˜๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐˜†, ๐—๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ฒ ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿณ.

St. Tammany is one of the safest, most forward-thinking communities in Louisiana, and that's no accident.

It's built on a parish-wide partnership of local law enforcement anchored by the St. Tammany Sheriff's Office, more than 700 personnel strong.

That safety is now on the ballot. If voters don't renew the existing property tax this Saturday, June 27, the Sheriff's Office faces a 20 percent downsizing.

The cuts fall across the board, including the Patrol Division, the deputies who answer your call.

Fewer patrol officers means longer response times in the one service residents feel most directly: LAW ENFORCEMENT.

The overwhelming consensus among ALL local law enforcement is that renewal serves the best interests of public safety and the citizens they serve.
