I have the local school making Christmas cards for our friends in North Carolina. I'd really like to send a box full of Christmas cards down to be distributed. I know everyone is busy with holidays approaching but let's all remember the true meaning of Christmas and spread some joy. Anyone who wants to send a card please send to 21 atkinson rd Charleston Me 04422. Please address it to Appalachian Trail Connection. Ill be sending them down mid December.

This was sent to me by a new dear friend in NC so I thought I'd share.

I have a very important challange for anyone who reads this...this post needs to go viral, and I'll need your support to make it happen. If everyone in the state of Maine sends ONE DOLLAR, To the Appalachian Trail Connection, franklin savings bank, 194 madison ave. Skowhegan Me.04976. We would raise over 1.3 million dollars for Western North Carolina and show the government we can survive without them....and we would never notice the loss of ONE DOLLAR. This is a registered NonProfit, and your 1$ donation will do amazing things. This is a long shot, but imagine yourselves it their situation...SHARE, SHARE, SHARE...AND SEND 1$.

I want to start by saying thank you! All your donations will be helping thousands of people. From minutes after we got there we got to see the supplies start to be disbursed to people that needed them. They have volunteers from the community working pretty much around the clock handing out supplies and delivering to those who can't get to the distribution center.

The last few days have been eye opening to say the least. We were able to deliver the load of supplies and load of potatoes to the kindest most grateful, strong and resilient community (i don't even know the words to fully capture) that I've ever met in my life. For an area that is devastated, this community is far from broken. Dad described it the best... we got to see where the Devil came in and God was fully at work restoring. THIS IS FAR FROM OVER!
These next 6 months will be rough as winter sets in. They still need our help.
We have another load of potatoes headed down next week and we're currently working on building supplies and lumber to assist with building small insulated houses to get people out of Tents for the cold months. We are also looking for available warehouse space as well as local businesses that are able to allow donations to be collected and picked up.

Please reach out of you are able to help!

We are still collecting monetary donations at Franklin Savings Bank. If you are unable to make it to the bank, you can send checks payable to Appalachian Trail Connection.
