The Neighborhood Network is a coalition of many Sioux City neighborhood groups that provides citizens an opportunity to take part in important decisions that affect our communities. While each of Sioux City’s neighborhoods has different problems, residents of all neighborhoods want the city’s decision-making process to be responsive to their needs. The Neighborhood Network helps residents become better informed and provides a link between Sioux City’s neighborhoods and City Hall.

⚠️Beware of Brushing Scams!

A recent scam has been showing up in many states. We have not had any local reports, but we want to make residents aware before you are victimized.

A "brushing" scam is when someone receives an unexpected gift or item, that they did not order, in the mail from a place like Amazon or other company. The gift will have the recipient’s address but not include the sender's information. When the recipient opens the package to see what it is and possibly who sent it, there could be a QR code to scan to find out who sent the gift.

Once the code is scanned, it can redirect you to phishing website to attempt to gain your personal and financial information.
The gift can be kept or thrown away, but the QR code/links should NOT be scanned/clicked for any reason. QR code scams are nothing new.

Inform your family members about the scam and avoid scanning any unknown QR codes included in the package.

Family Fun Night CANCELLED for June 24th from 7pm to 9pm.
Riverside Pool is still open 1pm to 7pm.

We as a Neighborhood Network feel it would be best to cancel the Family Fun Night tonight. This will ensure safety for all, allow available resources to be relocated to were it is needed, and also allow the donated food for the event to be diverted to those in need due to dislocation, as a result of the flooding.

We do plan to reschedule at a later time. Please watch for notice.

We meet the 2rd Thursday of every month at 6 pm?
Anyone is welcome?
Meetings are a very relaxed atmosphere?
We discuss neighborhood concerns?
We aren't just about crime, but yes an officer attends every meeting to assist with?
We can help direct to the correct department with non crime related events, such as pot holes in area, over grown grass, sidewalks, etc?
That we help sponsor, host, and volunteer at Family Fun Night events and National Night Out?
This entire board and members are strictly volunteers from any neighborhood in Sioux City?
Lastly that we could use some better attendance as a result there is more minds thinking of ideas and resolution??
