Four people. Four survivors.
Children and mothers who should have been safe at home are now fighting to recover in hospital beds after Fulani militants attacked their communities without warning.

Ilya was shot in the legs.
Lami was shot in the neck.
Ruth was shot in the back while attending a wedding.
Abigail, only 11 years old, was shot while running for her life.

Their stories are heartbreaking — but they are not forgotten.

Meet Gabriel and Michael.
These precious 18-month-old twin boys have suffered a loss no child should ever endure.

On May 13th, their parents, Iliya and Grace, were murdered in a targeted attack by Fulani militants in Plateau State, Nigeria. Grace, who was eight months pregnant with another set of twins, gave her life shielding Gabriel and Michael from the gunfire. Their unborn siblings also perished in the attack. Iliya was shot multiple times while trying to save his family and died shortly afterward in the hospital.

Their parents were devoted Christians who faithfully served their local church and community. They were targeted because of their faith.

Today, Gabriel and Michael are the sole survivors of their family.
But their story does not end in tragedy.

We are honored to announce that Equipping The Persecuted's Fountain of Hope Children's Home is welcoming these two precious boys into our care. They will receive a safe home, loving caregivers, medical support, education, and the opportunity to grow up surrounded by people who will love and protect them.
While nothing can replace the parents they lost, we are committed to ensuring that Gabriel and Michael have a future filled with hope.
