In our remote village, clean water isn’t a given-it’s a daily struggle. Women and children walk great distances to collect water that isn’t safe to drink. Water that can cause illness and takes away from school, daily tasks, and simply being a child.
Clean water means life, health, and hope!
Clean water is needed for the medical clinic and for childbirth.

We look forward to welcoming you back or introducing ourselves if you are new here.
Life in Nakweni continues with dedication, hard work, hope for the future, and deep care for one another. Nakweni Sisters is a partnership between a group of Maasai women and friends from the US, created to bring value, opportunity, and a strong collective voice to this vibrant group of women.
The group is made of 17 women who create hand-beaded jewelry, baskets, belts, purses, and more. Each piece expresses Maasai culture through thoughtful design while serving as a pathway toward the goals the women set to improve the lives of their families.
The beaded items are sold in the US, as well as Tanzania for those who have the opportunity to travel to meet this amazing team in person. One hundred percent of the proceeds go directly to the women. These help fund daily needs, seeds for crops, solar lights, school fees for children and youth, women’s healthcare, and special community projects.

What big hearts they have for others! They volunteered to paint blackboards at a local school.
Nakweni Sisters were able to share their beaded jewelry and decor with the visitors. Our beading team creates one of a kind pieces for you to wear and enjoy!
