It’s Global Cat Day and we’ve been keeping a huge secret🤫

WE’RE EXPANDING!

The little FTF shed has done a LOT in only 1.5 years

But we’re ready to make the space work harder for the cats, the community, and the future of Fixing the Ferals🥰

WHAAAT?

So we are adding a 16 ft x 8 ft CATIO onto our existing 16 ft x 10 ft shed!

That means more safe, enclosed outdoor space for the cats staying with us who don’t always want to be inside the shed. It helps give a smoother transition for our adoptable kitties

🐾 The old catios will be repurposed!

We’ll use them as designated spaces for donation drop-offs and our free trap rental program, instead of letting that valuable space go to waste😉

And we’re removing some fencing around the area, which gives us the ability to expand even further in the future!

This isn’t about making things fancy

It’s about making the space we already have more functional, more useful, and more sustainable

HOW MUCH?💲💲💲

Our current estimate is $6,080 for the catio expansion

The catio itself is expected to be a 3–5 day project once we’re ready to go

Before construction can start, though, we have to completely remove the existing catio and get everything moved out of the way

WHEN?🤔

As soon as we can raise the funds

We’re starting the fundraiser now so we can get the old structure cleared, get the project scheduled, and finally give the cats the additional space they’ve been waiting for.

$6,080 is a BIG number for a small, volunteer-run rescue

But every $5, $10, $25 or $50 gets us closer.

And if you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser is just as helpful. Share our cat cafe event too! The Halloween Cat Cafe will be a fun way to also raise money👻

Today is for the cats who may never be lap cats, the ones who live under our porches, behind our businesses, in our neighborhoods, and everywhere in between

They deserve care, too❤️

TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) helps prevent more kittens from being born outside, reduces the stress of mating behaviors, and allows community cats to live out their lives without adding to the cycle of overpopulation

You don’t have to bring every cat inside to help them. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is make sure they’re spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and cared for

If you feed them, fix them! 🐾

Sandy and Scaredy have officially been ADOPTED TOGETHER!!😭❤️❤️

Listen. Scaredy hasn’t even been listed on the website because he’s just so skittish. But the last few weeks… he’s been out and about!

Perfect. Freaking. Timing.

Ever since Shadow (now Odin) went to Buster & Rascal’s Cat Hotel, Sandy has been the outgoing one! So he was readyyy to go to a home!🥰

Bonus fun today: I got to pet a calf! One who is only 24 hours old!

Basically, Sandy and Scaredy’s new parents are superheroes. They are helping this sick calf with nursing and getting healthy! Long story but like… how amazing!😭❤️

So, yeah. They’re ready to live their best lives!❤️

FREE ICE CREAM SATURDAY!!!!!‼️

At our Halloween Cat Cafe, everyone can get a free ice cream cone!🍦🍦

Morris-Jenkins is bringing us some yummy ice cream and it’s 100% free!!

All you have to do is show up! Come around 2pm while they’re there, but the cat cafe is open until 5pm

Meeting adoptable cats and getting free ice cream is literally my dream afternoon😂🩷🩷

Patsy is taking a little vacation from rescue life! We can’t blame her, it’s been 196 days😥

So Patsy is heading to a foster home for a bit because even our little Sour Patch Kid needs a break sometimes!!

Found as a baby last year, Patsy was nearly dead when she came into care. Now she’s a healthy, thriving, slightly chaotic little tortie who is officially a little over a year old and STILL running on kitten energy💨

She’s tiny, curious, playful, and absolutely determined to get into anything she can. She can be sassy at first, but once she warms up, she wants love. Of course, only on HER terms. She’ll ask for pets and then act personally offended that you gave them to her🤣

Patsy needs a home that understands her big personality, respects her boundaries, and loves her for the silly little girl she is

Patsy is ready for her happily ever after!

Friendly cat doesn’t always mean indoor cat🐈

You do not have to bring every cat inside to help them!!

Some cats don’t want to live inside. Some are natural hunters. Some spend their entire lives trying to get back outside. And some are perfectly happy living outdoors, just not in someone’s house😅

That doesn’t mean they don’t deserve care. It doesn’t mean you’re heartless

Take Ezmer and Monk for example. Ezmer has a literal home nextdoor. But every morning, he wants to be outside, he bolts right out😂

We tried to bring Monk inside after TNR surgery. He said no thank you every time. We gave up on that and now he lefts people pet him, and occasionally pick him up!

The thing is, if a cat is thriving outdoors and prefers that life, TNR is a great option. Trap them, get them spayed/neutered and vaccinated, then return them to their territory❤️

No more kittens. No more reproductive cycle. A healthier cat and a more manageable colony

Not every cat needs a couch. Every cat deserves to be fixed

If you feed them, fix them✂️

🌦️ WEATHER CREW UPDATE: PRE-ADOPTIONS ARE OPEN! 🐾

The forecast is looking pretty good for these little storm clouds!🌧️

All 7 kittens have had their first round of vaccines, and everyone tested negative on their combo tests today!

The adoption details:

Puddle & Splash: 6–7 weeks old and MUST be adopted together!🌧️

5 white kitties: Closer to 8 weeks old

📅 Spay/neuter appointments: November 3rd!

💰 Adoption fee: $100 per kitten. A $50 nonrefundable pre-adoption fee goes toward the total adoption fee

Priority goes to adopters willing to take TWO kittens! Kittens do best with a buddy, so we’d love to see these little weather systems find homes in pairs

Pre-adoptions mean you can secure your future furry family member now while they finish growing and get ready to go home after their spay/neuter appointments!

Okay, we posted this last month. Time to remind y’all that YOU are the help!🐾

Rescues are full. Fosters are full. Funds are limited. And more cats need help than we can possibly take in. Like WAY more!

So what can YOU do when you find a cat or kitten and every rescue says no?🤔

🐾 Foster in your bathroom or spare room, even temporarily

🐾 Sponsor a cat’s vet bill, food, or supplies

🐾 Share posts to help find fosters, adopters, and resources

🐾 Offer transportation, supplies, or your time

🐾 Ask friends, family, and coworkers to help

🐾 Help get community cats spayed and neutered to prevent the next litter

You don’t have to take in 20 kittens to save one. Helping one cat for one week is so much bigger than you realize🩷

And please stop treating a rescue saying “we’re full” like we’re telling you to leave an animal to d*e. Get the animal safe, ask for resources, and be part of the solution

Seriously. Why is that everyone’s response!!?

We cannot adopt our way out of cat overpopulation. We need a community willing to help, too

You don’t have to do everything. But everyone can do SOMETHING💕
