We are excited to welcome two new Executive Board members this spring! Maria Garcia joins us as Marketing Manager from the Babcock Center, and Dr. Liza Trejo joins us as Professional Learning Specialist with Avant! Both women bring a deep connection to our mission and a shared commitment to supporting multilingual learners and the educators who serve them. We're grateful for their service!

We were featured this week in an Education Week article discussing the impacts of increased immigration enforcement activity on multilingual students, families, and schools. The article highlights findings from our recent educator surveys, including increased student anxiety, changes in attendance patterns, and growing concern among educators working to support multilingual learners and their families during this time.

We are so grateful to the educators across South Carolina who trusted us enough to share their experiences and perspectives!We are committed to supporting educators with the professional learning and resources they need to create safe and welcoming spaces for multilingual learners across our state.
