Project Cargo: Summit to South Africa

Project Cargo: Summit to South Africa Project Cargo will transform a shipping container in Summit County, Colorado and ship it to South Af

Cargo of Dreams is a humanitarian organization dedicated to transforming impoverished communities worldwide by converting standard shipping containers into fully functional operating facilities. Our international relief efforts improve quality of life for those living in adverse conditions and extreme poverty – plus provide opportunities for everyday people living in first world countries to utili

ze their gifts and talents in a unique, tangible, and creative way. Whether providing a school – “edutainer”, health clinic – “clinitainer”, or even an “imagitainer” – anything one can conceive in order to provide relief for others – we believe that our model and approach changes the face of traditional international relief efforts as we have previously known and will literally engage thousands of people otherwise not involved in a hands-on and practical effort.

Do you recognize Project Cargo: Summit to South Africa in this photo? Thanks for the great picture update TentMaker Ministries!

HOW MANY PEOPLE DO YOU SEE IN THIS PICTURE? A few were absent the day we took the picture, we think it's 14 adults and 66 kids... how about you?

About 20 of the kids are still in need of sponsors to assist with the cost of their schooling. If you would like to sponsor a child in the school you can do so by clicking on the “DONATE NOW” button on our webpage (http://www.tentmakerministries.com) and registering for a recurring monthly donation of $25 (or a one time donation of $300) designated to “Sponsor a child or family”.

Each sponsorship helps to cover the cost of one child’s attendance at the school, including eight hours of care and teaching (8am- 4pm) five days a week, two nutritious meals and a snack each day, supplies, materials, electricity, water and staff salaries. You will be sent a photograph of your sponsored child with personal information about the child and their family (birthdays, prayer requests) and receive periodic updates about them. We encourage you to correspond with your child and their family via email or postal mail… a few sponsors have even traveled to South Africa with a short-term mission team and met their sponsored child!

The School is open and there are 26 two and three-year-olds playing, eating, sleeping and learning about Jesus in the new building made possible by our project!

School is open and 26 2- and 3-year-olds are playing, eating, sleeping and learning about Jesus in the new building thanks to our friends at Cargo of Dreams, Project Cargo: Summit to South Africa, countless prayer warriors, donors and individuals who even came to South Africa to help complete the building (Stefana, Bonnie, Linda, Joan, Matt, Wes, Jason, Ed and Mike)!

It's looking more like a roof structure today than yesterday's "pick-up stix" game photo... Decking, felt paper and shingles are in sight!
