Yesterday the Buffalo Soldier Chapter of the Signal Corp Regimental Association hosted an outstanding Orange Call and is proud to announce it welcomed five of its members to new heights.
COL Ulekeya ya S. Hill and CPT Jaime T. Bass received Silver Orders of Mercury for their significant contributions as mentors and leaders. In addition to the Silver Orders of Mercury, 3 members of the Buffalo Soldier Chapter, MAJ Jerry Smalls II, CW2 Jerome Stoner, and SGT George Mattison IV, were awarded the Mercury Medal of Achievement (MMA) for their individual contributions to the organization.
Colonel Hill was awarded the Silver Order of Mercury and has been instrumental in leading Signal Corp efforts throughout her career, helping to steward the Buffalo Soldier Chapter through its recent efforts, and contributing greatly towards NETCOM and the Signal Corps legacy.
Captain Bass’ contributions include but are not limited to rebuilding the storied Buffalo Soldier Chapter of the SCRA itself, serving as the president of the chapter in this transformative phase, and above all else functioning as the intermediary of senior signal leaders and the force for which they are tasked with supporting.
Major Jerry Smalls II, the VP for Membership, was awarded the MMA for his significant effort in building the next generation of SCRA membership and personally recruiting 15 members into the chapter with long reaching 2nd and 3rd order effects on membership.
Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jerome Stoner was awarded the MMA for serving as the bridge for all Warrant Officers on Fort Huachuca and the SCRA, building relationships to serve the organization that might have otherwise been lost.
Sergeant George Mattison IV was awarded the MMA for his service as the Public Affairs Officer of the Buffalo Soldier Chapter during its transformative time.
