How has it already been almost a month since we were on Mackinac Island for the 2026 Michigan Regional Convention?!

Looking through all of these official pictures brings back so many amazing memories and takes us right back to an unforgettable weekend. From learning more about all things PTK, to meeting new friends and reconnecting with old ones, to celebrating the successes of chapters from all across the Michigan Region, every moment was special, especially in such a beautiful location.

We are so grateful for the experiences, memories, and connections made throughout the weekend, and we already can’t wait to reconnect with everyone in Petoskey, MI for the 2027 Regional Convention! 💙💛

Fueling innovation, one cup at a time ☕🤖

Our PTK members are having a great time selling coffee at the middle school robotics competition hosted on MCC’s campus today! We love getting the chance to support all of the talented students, coaches, and families who are spending the day showcasing their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

A huge thank you to everyone who is stopping by to grab a cup of coffee and support our fundraiser. Events like these remind us how exciting it is to see future innovators in action!

What an incredible evening at the Michigan Regional Convention Awards Gala for our chapter of Phi Theta Kappa! We are so proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students and advisors.

First, congratulations to Sophia Friedrich-Wolthuis, who was recognized as one of MCC’s representatives on the All-Michigan Academic Team. What a well-deserved honor!

Our advisors were also recognized for their dedication and leadership throughout the evening. Sara was named 2nd Runner-Up for the Paragon Advisor Award, while Jennifer was honored as the Most Distinguished Advisor in the Region, received the Horizon Award for Advisors, and was elected to the Region's Advisor Council. Together, Sara and Jennifer were recognized as the Most Distinguished Advisor Team in the Region. These recognitions reflect countless hours of hard work, mentorship, and commitment to student success, and we could not be prouder.

But the biggest celebration of the night belongs to Lariah Tissue, who was elected as one of four Michigan Regional Officers! We are beyond excited to see her represent our chapter and the region and continue making an impact through servant leadership, passion, and dedication to Phi Theta Kappa.

Day 1 at the Michigan Regional Convention on Mackinac Island is officially in the books! ❄️⛴️

Our travels to the ferry included snow, and the ferry ride itself was COLD. Thankfully, none of us have turned into popsicles yet! 😂

Today was also a very exciting day for our chapter. We were recognized for earning 5-Star Status, and we could not be more proud of all the hard work our members have put in this year!

Lariah also represented our chapter incredibly well in her bid to become a Michigan Regional Officer. She gave a speech in response to the question, “In what ways can individual and collective identities create connections for the future?” and spent time talking with Phi Theta Kappa members from across the state about why she would be a great Regional Officer. She did an amazing job, and we are so proud of her confidence, leadership, and passion for PTK! 💙💛

There are moments as a chapter when you get to pause and truly celebrate the incredible students around you, and this is definitely one of them.

We are beyond proud to announce that our newly appointed Chapter Officer, Lariah Tissue, is running for Phi Theta Kappa Michigan Regional Officer!

Even as one of our newest officers, Lariah has already made such a meaningful impact on Alpha Tau Alpha through her leadership, heart, and dedication to serving others. Watching her grow, lead, and continue to step boldly into new opportunities has been a great joy for our chapter.

Seeing her take this next step fills us with so much pride because we know firsthand the passion, thoughtfulness, and excellence she brings to everything she does. We have no doubt that she will continue to flourish in this journey, and we cannot wait to cheer her on every step of the way.

The Michigan Region would be so lucky to have her leadership, and we are honored to support her as she continues to shine.

🎉 We are proud to announce that Alpha Tau Alpha has achieved 5-Star Chapter status! 🎉

This is a huge accomplishment and the highest rating a Phi Theta Kappa chapter can earn. It reflects the dedication, leadership, and hard work of our Executive Board, members, and advisors throughout the year.

As part of earning this distinction, we submitted our College Project and Honors in Action Hallmark Award entries. These submissions place our chapter in the running for awards at the national level during Catalyst in Baltimore, MD this March, and at the regional level at the Michigan Regional Convention on Mackinac Island in May.

We are also excited to share that our chapter increased its invitation acceptance rate by 43.2% over last year, which makes us a REACH chapter as well. This growth speaks to the strength of our chapter and the impact of our outreach and engagement efforts.

Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this success. Your commitment continues to move Alpha Tau Alpha forward and uphold the proud tradition of excellence within Phi Theta Kappa! 💙💛
