It was great to deliver school supplies to Isaiah’s Place in Troy yesterday! We also had the opportunity to tour the agency and learn how children are helped through foster and adoptive care.

Our chapter met today at North Star Coffee Station in Piqua for a productive Annual Meeting! We have been involved with multiple projects to support our communities from donating food, participating in Fall and Spring Days of service and volunteering at the local Veterans Museum. And, we enjoy fun and camaraderie with our fellow colonels! Today, we played several HOKC trivia games and collected school supplies for Isaiah’s Place. It’s never too early to bring the young ones in your family to the Miami Valley Veterans Museum to teach them about area veterans who have given so much to protect our freedom. With that in mind, the museum has an upcoming program for children for you to consider:

*SATURDAY, MAY 2, 2026 at 10 A.M. A very special program for kid 7 or so up to age 14 or so with Vietnam War pilot Lieutenant Colonel Mike Jackson and U.S. Navy Lieutenant Penny Adams, lab and blood bank director, aboard the hospital ship the U.S. S. Repose in the Vietnam War telling their stories. There will also be a scavenger hunt in the museum, a crossword puzzle, an art project, and a little music from the era. Members of the local Kentucky Colonels are sponsoring the program.

This was a special program about a local hero who gave his life during the Vietnam War. Our chapter volunteers here on the first Saturday of the month so that the community can learn more about our military history and honor those who served.
