Useful information to have if you experience a prolonged power outage.

Set up a camping tent inside your warmest room - human bodies produce 330 BTU/hour each. 2-3 people in an enclosed tent can raise temperature 15-20°F warmer than the room. Add blankets OVER the tent for extra insulation.
This saved families during the 2021 Texas freeze. Your body becomes the heater. No power needed.

🌟 Thank You, Swisher, Shueyville, and Ely! 🌟

A huge thank you to our amazing communities for your generosity during Scouting for Food this past weekend! Your support helps make a real difference for families in need right here in Eastern Iowa.

Special thanks go out to our Pack 37 Cub Scout families, who dedicated two weekends in a row — first distributing door hangers to around 700 homes on October 18th, and then returning on October 25th to collect your generous donations.

Thanks to your kindness, we filled a pickup truck to the brim with food, which was delivered to volunteers who sorted, packaged, and sent it along to HACAP’s Food Reservoir to help those in need.

We’re so proud to be part of such a caring and giving community — thank you for helping our Scouts make a difference! 💛💙

Keep an eye out, City of Swisher! This Saturday, Oct. 18th, our Cub Scouts will be out and about placing door hangers with info on our upcoming Food Collection! We will collect food the following Saturday, Oct. 25th to help support families in our community.
