Save the Date - our Summer Reading Kickoff is Friday, June 26! Join us for some new features like a Bubble Bus and magic show, plus lawn games, character meet/greets, and of course, the Summer Reading Game! This year patrons will be able to sign up for the game through the Beanstack app/website. You can even register ahead of time and just enjoy the fun upon arrival. Visit our website to learn more.

Thank you Westchester Children's Museum for a great day of STEAM last month! But wait, they're coming back next Saturday, 6/13! Drop-in from 10am-12pm to make your own roller coaster, build different machines or structures, and more. Stations are geared for ages 5+, but younger siblings are welcome.

Our June Art Exhibit is up! Come meet the artist David A. Rocco this Saturday 6/6, from 2-4pm (drop-in) and get a closer look at these photographs of various historic ships and fireboats! David will also be doing a presentation about the history of the FDNY fireboats on 6/18, some of which are on the National Register of Historic Places.
Registration is required for the June 18th presentation; sign up through our online calendar.

Teen Tuesday - we're looking for teens to help out this summer as we prep and run the Summer Reading Game! Here are some opportunities for teens in grades 6-12 to earn volunteer hours:
1. Work in the Children's room and help kids track their progress on the Summer Reading Game! There will be multiple shifts available throughout the summer for this task, but teens MUST attend a training session ahead of time (multiple dates available). Sign up for one training session by clicking the banner on the "teen programs" page (under "programs" menu tab).
2. Only need a couple of volunteer hours? Help us run the Summer Reading Kickoff on Friday, June 26! There will be ONE training available on Thursday, 6/18 that all teens MUST be present for in order to volunteer for the Kickoff. View details on the "Volunteer Program" page.
3. Lastly, we need help creating props for this year's reading theme! Sign up to help us paint and construct cardboard dinosaurs to decorate the Children's room before the Kickoff. Sign up for this program can be done via the website calendar (date is Monday 6/8 from 5-7pm).
We thank all of our volunteers for giving their time and talents to the library.

Happy ! Join us next Wed. (6/10) for a concert by the Yorktown High School Tri-M Music Honor Society! All are welcome, but please register so we can have a proper headcount.

We'll also be hosting YHS students on Monday, 6/15 to put on 3 unique One-Act plays that were written, directed AND performed by YHS students. Please register for accurate seating.

Friendly reminder that the library will be CLOSED MONDAY, MAY 25 in observance of Memorial Day. The Lake Mohegan Fire Dept. will host a ceremony by our WWII memorial (outdoors) Monday at 10am for those interested.
