Kizzy update:

Dr. Naar was able to get an injection in her so she could be sedated. She is estimated to be 2 years old. She is not pregnant but most likely had puppies 4 months ago. She was covered in fleas and ticks so she got a capstar. She is positive for heartworms, hookworms and whip worms. She got a proheart 6 and is starting on doxy. She is now spayed. She also got a bath and towel dried. The staff got a harness on her as well as a muzzle. They put her in a crate and we loaded my car. She cried the entire way home and was able to get her muzzle off. Once I got home, I unloaded the crate and transferred her into a big crate. She is now home and resting. A bowl of canned food mixed with water and meds and is in her crate. I am going to let her decompress for a while and not bother her. She did not try to bite me but was definitely upset. We r just going to give her time. Also, dr. Naar removed bb pellets all throughout her body. Someone thought it was cool to use her as target practice.

That is all for now! Plz pray she eats and gets those meds in her and that she will rest and realize she will be okay!

To all those that said we caught her and took her to Caddo just for her to be put to sleep there….here is your proof that that did not happen. She is OUT of Caddo parish animal services. I’m not going to lie to yall….it did NOT go well. Susan Dufrene Jenkins went up to CPAS earlier just to sit with her to see if she would come around. Unfortunately, that did not work. So we made the choice to have Doug get her and put her in the car. He had to use a lead to muzzle her and she was freaking out and trying to bite. When he got her in the car and Into the crate she was freaking out as well. She was thrashing around, screaming and still snapping. I had Susan head straight to Dr. Naar’s office. They unloaded the crate with her in it. She had to stay in the crate until more employees got back from lunch so they could safely move her. They then placed the crate into a run with the door opened so she can come Out on her own. Any sudden movement, she freaks. She tries to bite. Thankfully neither at CPAS nor dr naar office she has not bit anyone but it’s not for her lack of trying. The plan is to let her decompress. Then Dr. Naar is going to do all the medicals while she is under sedation. That Includes shots, hw test, spay etc. Then I will bring her to my house where I will give her as much time and space as she needs. Dr. naar is going to put a harness on her and hopefully that will help. I’m not making any promises yall but what I can promise yall is I’m going to give it my best shot. She deserves a chance!

I’m stressed yall. I’m have been freaking out and crying and just a disaster!

Please pray Kizzy will know she’s safe and learn that she’s okay.

Our favorite apparel woman Heidi Anne came through for us today and did an updo on our coin buckets! This is our baby girl today! You can turn the volume up and here out sweet the shelter staff is being to her! It looks to me that all the drugs we gave her have finally worn off. She doesn’t look as out of it as she did yesterday. The staff reports they firmly believe she is just scared and truly not an aggressive threat. We knew that deep on our hearts but we are always glad to have it confirmed by a non biased group of people! Monday can’t come soon enough! I get off work at 2 and then I have some of my team members meeting me at the shelter so we can get her. It may take us a while bc we will not rush her. Everything will be on her time and at her pace! But I know, we will surround her with love, with praise and with a smile. Dogs have a tendency to follow the human’s lead when it comes to emotions so we are going to give her the best! Hold tight baby girl…the K Krewe Animal Rescue team is coming!

Y’all… after 8 long days of trying to catch this sweet girl, she is finally safe! ❤️

According to the CPAS staff, she hasn’t barked, growled, or caused a single issue. She honestly just seems scared and unsure, which is completely understandable after everything she’s been through. We’re hoping she’s starting to realize she’s safe and can finally relax a little. We believe in this girl and know she just needs some time.

For now, she needs a name! 😊

With over 22,000 views on her videos and posts, we know so many of you have been following along, worrying about her, and cheering her on. Since our rescue funds are pretty tight, we thought this would be a fun way to involve everyone while helping raise money for her vetting and care.
