Let me explain to you all the importance of having your pet chipped…a pit was found at Shane’s on Barksdale Blvd. I went and picked him up and went to Valor to check for a chip. Thank God he was chipped! Tank is now home safe with his owner! Please please make sure your animals are chipped and with updated info of owners.

This is our balance at the vet! We still have about 1200 coming from the Facebook donate button (it takes 30-45 days for them to transfer the money). That still leaves us short for paying off this bill! As you know in rescue everytime you turn around something else is going on with one of your dogs and we have to get them to the vet! We have old dogs that are constantly needing meds, a young dog with an ectopic ureter then add on normal things such as heartworm prevention and doxy for those that are heartworm postive….it all just add up fast!

Just this weekend, I had to say no to helping a dog bc we just didn’t have the money and the dog ended passing away bc finder couldn’t afford treatment.

Please consider purchasing some

Our beautiful karma made it through her big surgery. As you all know with flat faced dogs, anesthesia is so dangerous. And bc of that, time is of the essence! We elected to get all the major life threatening things done and
Then wake her up! It was more important they she wake up from the anesthesia alive. Her arm amputation was up first….although it was kind of a pain in the butt, it got done! The actual mass was also sent to lsu for pathology. Should know those results by Tuesday or Wednesday! Next up was the spay! As you all know the longer females go without be spayed, the risk of cancer drastically increases. She has tons of cysts on her ovaries so thankfully all that got removed! Next up was removing some rotten, infected teeth. She had 6 pulled quickly. We didn’t keep her under anesthesia for cleaning and polishing of the rest of her teeth bc like I said before, she needed to be woken up and done so quickly.

She ate a good dinner of soft food and will need to stay on soft food for the next 5-7 days! She is on antibiotics and will remain on those for 14 days and she also has pain meds on baked and will be sent gone with those too!!

Our girl is a fighter….shes not done with this life and neither are we!! I know she feels so much better and will be rocking and rolling in no time. With the mass on her arm, she was never walking on that arm anyways, so transitioning her to learning how to walk missing an entire arm won’t be a big deal.

Our anxiety was through the roof today so all of us will sleep a little better tonight and so will Karma!

We are so proud of how strong ans brave this old gal is! She is our hero! ❤️❤️🙌🙌

Today we take a moment to honor and remember all the lives that were lost on 9/11 (2,977 or them) as well as over 9000 people whom have passed away due to 9/11 related illnesses. We also want to remember the canine heroes that so diligently searched for survivors. We all came together for the sake of One Nation Under God! We salute the survivors and the heroes! We will never ever forget 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

🐾 MEET KAPTAIN – YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND IS WAITING! 🐾
Have you ever looked into a dog’s eyes and just known they were meant to be yours? Meet Kaptain, an adora-bull, sweet-natured boy around 1 year old who is ready to anchor himself right into your heart and home! ❤️🤍💙
Our vet calls him a "mystery mix" (maybe a splash of Whippet in there?), but we just call him 100% perfect. Best of all? He’s reached his full size, making him the ultimate compact buddy for every adventure!
Kaptain gives you the absolute best of both worlds:
✨ The Playful Pal: Fun, happy, and full of life! He’s a total social butterfly who gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and kids.
💤 The Ultimate Couch Potato: Once playtime wraps up, he flips a switch and becomes the ultimate cuddle bug. He firmly believes he’s a lap dog and wants nothing more than to snuggle up close to his favorite humans.
The Important Details:
✅ Up to date on all vaccines 💉
✅ Heartworm NEGATIVE, neutered, & MICROCHIPPED 🐾
✅ Crate/kennel trained & almost fully house-trained! 🏠
Kaptain is currently being fostered through K Krewe Animal Rescue and is searching for a forever family to love him just as much as he’ll love them. Could that be you?
