💜 Foster Spotlight: Mrs. Darla 💜
Some people foster kittens. Some people become part of the foundation that keeps a rescue going. Miss Darla is the latter.

Darla has been in the kitten game longer than most and has been a true asset to The Kitten Cradle since the very beginning. From helping with TNR efforts and taking on medical cases to caring for the spicy ones who need a little extra patience, she has never been afraid of a challenge. And right now, she’s on a mission with some particularly spicy kittens! 🌶️🐈

Over the year, we’ve talked through countless medical cases, bounced ideas back and forth, and worked together to figure out the best ways to help both the feral community and the kittens who come through our doors. She takes on the hard cases, the complicated ones, and the kittens who might otherwise be overlooked.

And the result? Countless kittens and cats have found their forever homes because of her. 🐾

But somewhere along the way, Darla became more than a foster. She became an invaluable part of the TKC team and, even more importantly, a friend.

Thank you, Miss Darla, for everything you do for The Kitten Cradle, for the cats, and for the community. We are so lucky to have you. 💜🐾

At about six weeks old, Cinder is just starting to discover the wonderful world of soft food, and she is absolutely thriving.
She is gorgeous, healthy, and growing into quite the little personality. She’s still a little hissy, but her foster family is working with her every day.

🐾 Found a kitten? STOP before you scoop it up!
A tiny kitten alone does not always mean it has been abandoned. Mama may be nearby getting food or waiting for people to leave so she can return. If the kitten is warm, alert, clean, and appears well-fed, take a moment to observe from a safe distance before bringing it inside.

Removing healthy kittens from their mother can actually put them at greater risk. Mama provides warmth, nutrition, protection, and care that a human simply cannot replace. If a kitten is injured, cold, weak,, or clearly orphaned(several hours waiting), that’s when intervention may be necessary.

Sometimes the best rescue is knowing when not to scoop. 💜🐱

💜 Meet Ella! 💜

Ella is quite possibly the sweetest little kitten you’ll ever meet. She came from a larger colony with her siblings, Monkey and Marbles, but they just weren’t meant for colony life. They deserved a chance at a home, and Ella absolutely shines in one. 🐾

After a little time to decompress, Ella becomes social, playful, and affectionate. She loves to play, sip on your tea ☕😂, and demand pets. She has such a calming presence that we’re pretty sure she lowers blood pressure just by being around!

💜 Meet Winston! 💜

Winston’s sister Pearl found her forever home, but this sweet boy is still here hanging out with his brothers, Dusty and Samson. We’d love to see Winston’s turn come next! 🐾

He’ll be neutered within the week, is up to date on his vaccines and deworming, and is ready to find his family. Winston has really come out of his shell since joining us, even after moving to a new foster home. He’s much less reclusive and scared and has become such a wonderful, confident boy.

Winston gets along great with other cats and doesn’t mind dogs. And treats? That’s his love language. 😂💜
