If you didn’t know, we partner with Doulas and Midwives each year, from near and far, who are making a difference in their communities!

Ready for the day that it doesn’t shock people that we’re not ok with being dismissed or ignored after baby’s arrival. 🙄

I will never get over the postpartum visits I had after giving birth to each of my sons in Oregon. Finding a provider who cares, and truly listens to you is much more important than I knew. (Read The Birth Book by Jennifer Lincoln, MD, IBCLC for a great list of questions to ask!)

One doctor only cared about prescribing me birth control. I was so disappointed with my care.

For my next pregnancy, I found a provider I LOVED because I wanted to be treated like a person, not a number.

My provider was so sweet and caring, and sadly unable to deliver my baby because all surrounding hospitals wouldn’t take patients having babies that afternoon, so we had to drive much further to a hospital she couldn’t deliver at (a story for another day).

We are not numbers in a system. We grow life within us! That’s a huge deal!! Our well-being doesn’t just matter during pregnancy. It matters in the 4th trimester too.

Washington county nurses have an in home visit prenatal/postpartum program, and will take gift boxes to struggling families 🩷

I’m grateful to these two for their help, and for our partnership with WA County nurses!

Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canadians!! 🇨🇦❤️ To celebrate we always get maple bars, and take the boys mini golfing- a nod to the amazing mini golf course in Parksville where I grew up in BC.

We’ve also really been enjoying watching Canada in the World Cup ⚽️🎉

We just came back from a trip up to the Okanagan, where my oldest was born. The kids paddle boarded on the lake, we ate some of our favourite foods up there and introduced them to some new ones. And we always bring plenty of chips and candy back with us to enjoy until our next visit up north ☺️
