⚾ Investing in the future of Sherwood, one pitch at a time.

The Defiance Area Foundation is proud to award a $35,000 grant to the Village of Sherwood during the 2026 Spring Grant Cycle. Funding for this project was provided through the Hanna Family Memorial Fund under the DAF umbrella.

The grant will support Project Home Plate at Moats Park, a community-driven effort to revitalize Sherwood's primary youth sports complex and secure land for future park expansion. Planned improvements include updates to the concession stands, restrooms, playground, and other amenities that will enhance the experience for local families and visitors.

Projects like this create lasting benefits for future generations by providing safe, welcoming spaces where children can play, families can gather, and communities can grow together.

CNBC just named Ohio the #1 state for business in America for 2026 — the first time in the study's 20-year history! 🏆

The rankings scored all 50 states across 138 metrics in 10 categories, and this year, infrastructure carried the most weight of any category (nearly 18% of the total score). Ohio topped that category, along with strong marks for:

Club activities, camaraderie, and people having a good ole fashioned time — we are proud to be a little village with BIG heart! ♥️

Small town. Big welcome. 🌟

Last week, Kuhn Truck and RV and Crystal Fountain Park hosted the Born Free RV Rendezvous — bringing RV enthusiasts from across the country right here to Sherwood, Ohio! 🚐🇺🇸

Guests enjoyed activities, Village of Sherwood history trivia, and genuine small-town hospitality. They loved the coffee from Juniper Coffee & Market and breakfast at Paulding Pancake House, as well as service tips from the Kuhn Brothers team.

And in true Sherwood fashion, the community spirit shone bright — the Born Free Leapin’ Lions raised more than $1,600 for the Moats Park Makeover through a charity auction. 💚 💰

Saturday morning in Sherwood looked pretty much the way a small town should. 🐰🥚🌸

Kids with maps, businesses opening their doors, the Easter Bunny and Justin The Clown, and a whole lot of people showing up to make something fun happen for the community. ❤️
