The Sheridan Board of Education voted in favor of ratifying the agreement with the Sheridan Educators Association to meet union demands and end the strike.

After 17 days on strike, Sheridan educators voted 100% YES to ratify the tentative agreement.

This agreement includes major wins we fought for together: a path to classified staff recognition, important changes to district negotiating policies, and reinstating our contract.

We are ready to return to classrooms on Monday, pending the School Board’s vote to ratify the agreement before then.

After 17 days on strike, SEA members have reached a tentative agreement.

This was not accomplished alone. It happened because Sheridan educators stayed united, and because families, students, community members, and union siblings stood with us every step of the way.

As Sheridan educators continue to hold firm on the strike line, we will not back down on our demands. We fight against the anti-union policies pushed by the district and retaliatory actions against staff who strike. We support the reinstatement of our contract and recognition of ESPs.

Sheridan School District is now cutting off health benefits for striking educators and their families, with coverage ending May 1. Staff were also told they may owe hundreds or even thousands of dollars to pay back April benefits.

This move is not about solving the crisis in Sheridan schools. It's about punishing those who have been out on the line fighting for the future of Sheridan Schools for the last 17 days.
