Our attention turns to the east and the Saginaw Township Fire Department as they announce the passing of one of their own. This news is close to the hearts of 1st Responders in and around Montcalm County as Eric Brown had previously been employed by Montcalm County Emergency Services and other fire and EMS communities. Brother Eric will always be remembered for his compassion towards others no matter who you were and his comforting hugs to many. Rest in Peace, Brother.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of retired Lieutenant Mike Brown. Mike joined the department in 1989 and served at Station 1. Mike’s commitment, courage, and selfless service helped keep our neighbors safe. Throughout his career, he stood ready in times of crisis, putting the well-being of others before his own. Mike’s passion for the fire service was passed on to his son Jerry who also served with him at Station 1.
Please join us in keeping his family, friends, and fellow firefighters in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Rest easy, Mike.
