Pearl's Memory Babies

Our mission is to rekindle precious memories, restoring purpose, and bringing comfort. They continue on, delivering babies for as long as donations allow.

Pearl’s Memory Babies gifts customized baby dolls to individuals with Alzheimer’s & dementia living in care facilities, presenting each gift with compassion and care. When Sandy's Mother-in-law, Pearl, was stricken with Alzheimer's, the only thing she and her husband Wayne found to soothe her was a baby doll. Pearl's response and love for the baby was so amazing that Sandy & Wayne later gifted "babies" to other memory patients in Pearl's facility and were happily surprised at the similar reactions from many of them as well. To honor Pearl in the years after her passing, as a Christmas gift to one another, Sandy & Wayne would visit a memory care facility gifting more "babies". In 2018, Sandy's good friend Shannon had been expressing to Sandy her own mother's distress, caused by Alzheimer's. Sandy asked Shannon if she could give Shannon a "baby" for her mother and her mother's room-mate. Shannon accepted.....and when she described her mother's and her room-mate's amazing reactions, Wayne and Sandy knew they wanted to provide babies for the rest of the residents of the facility. Sandy asked Shannon to accompany her to help her with that special delivery that Valentine's Day, 2018. Shannon took photos as Sandy lovingly hand-delivered each baby to each new parent. The day after their visit, the facility requested that Shannon share the photos and videos taken on Facebook so the patients' families could see them - and that post, as they say, went "viral". Sandy and Shannon were absolutely humbled and shocked by the outpouring of media coverage, interviews, and requests for how to help that followed. And Wayne continues to join alongside whenever he can!

What do a Candidate for State Representative, a singer from AMERICAN IDOL, Pearl's Memory Babies, and Buchanan Place Health and Rehabilitation all have in common?? Bringing JOY to those living with dementia and Alzheimer's!

Last week we shared the sweet reactions from our recent delivery here but we promised an update this week with a SPOTLIGHT 🌟 to the village that made it possible!

Delivering comfort takes a dedicated community, and this team put together a truly unforgettable celebration for their residents. A heartfelt thank-you to:

• Teresa Seals, LBSW, along with the Activities Department and Buchanan staff, for organizing the event and loving on every resident ❤️

• State Representative Noah Smith for State Representative for taking the time to attend and showing support for memory care 💜

• CARIE FERRA HALE 🎤 Tennessee's famous "SINGING WAITRESS" at The Local Restaurant for filling the room with her beautiful voice 🎵

• Smoky Mountain Home Health & Hospice and Gentiva for treating everyone to cupcakes 🧁

• Amedisys Home Health, families and friends for spending the afternoon visiting! 🤗

We are deeply grateful for leaders and community partners coming together to celebrate and uplift this community!

Delivering comfort to Buchanan Place Health and Rehabilitation was such an all-star occasion; we’re spreading the story across multiple posts. First Up! Precious moments with their residents! 🤗 🌟

The sweet ladies immediately took to cradling their new babies—several naming them on the spot after their own sons and daughters. Between happy tears, big smiles, and memories shared - we're reminded of just how much comfort delivery day brings for individuals living with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

A shower of LOVE, and PEARL'S MEMORY BABIES for ALL at the Affinity for Her unit at Grove Health and Rehabilitation 🩷💙

When Jo L, Certified Dementia Practitioner, who educates on redirecting behaviors and calming distress in loving and caring ways asked for our help bringing sunshine to their residents who light up when children visit their facility, we said "WE CAN'T WAIT!" 😍☀

We've FALLEN head-over-heels for these adorable crocheted hats from Carmen J. in Shepherdsville, KY!🍁🍂 A huge thank-you for the beautiful, snuggle-soft beanies! Our hearts are overflowing seeing the love pouring out of Keystone Place at Newbury Brook! 🧁💕

The staff went above and beyond to welcome our babies and pets with a heartfelt baby shower—complete with a gender-reveal for Team Pink and Team Blue!🩷💙 But beyond the fun, the afternoon touched everyone in the room:

💬 “Our Applewood neighborhood was filled with so much joy, laughter, and a few happy tears as our whole Keystone community came together…”

💬 “The excitement was contagious! Our residents gathered together, shared in the surprises, and celebrated every little reveal.”
