On June 19, 1865, enslaved people in Galveston, Texas finally learned they were free.

Pride would not exist without the contributions of Black LGBTQ+ people, and today, we celebrate Black resiliency and Black joy. As Marsha P. Johnson said, "No pride for some of us without liberation for all of us."
