Junior Charity League of Shelby, NC The Junior League of Shelby provides necessities (clothing, food, medications etc) and other charitable services for the citizens of Cleveland County.

Founded in 1934, the Junior League of Shelby is dedicated to the belief that volunteer service is an essential part of responsible citizenship. The members of the Junior Charity League of Shelby give over 5,000 hours of volunteer service to Cleveland County annually. The primary purpose of the Junior League of Shelby shall be to raise monies to provide for needy persons for such necessaries as: c

lothing, fuel, food, medications, or any other needs that arise. The League also shall carry out other charitable services for the benefit of the citizens of Cleveland County and foster their educational interests.

We had the best time raising money and awareness for Junior Charity League with all our friends Friday night.

Carrie and the community team put in so much hard work in the sun selling balls for the dunk tank.

Thank you to Berry Business Systems for the hilarious fun of the dunk tank & a special thank you to Jan Roddy Blanton and the Greenbrook Design community for letting us be a part and planning.

With your help we raised $1265 to clothe the children of Cleveland County. Together we lead. Together we love.

Sustainers are the one of the biggest hearts of our league. 🩷 We have learned from them how to lead and be servants at heart. We take the knowledge offered so that we can better our community.

Each year we have two dinners and this spring we were hosted at Royster House by Mrs. Lynn and her staff. 🏡

Jennifer Rose Cook, our Sustainers President and a sustainer herself, along with other board members brought the ladies up to speed with current league business and initiated. 💪🏻💪🏻

We are so grateful for the years of service present in that room. To a successful 2025 to 2026 season and to clothing even more children in 2027. 🎉

We are back with another Member Moment where we feature Junior Charity League members. At this time we would like to introduce you to Renota Strickland Isenhour. 🩷💙

Her birthday is January 9 🎉🎉 and she has been serving in the league 8 years.

She joined the league for community service opportunities and to work the clothing room. Jackie Sibley Newton was instrumental in her joining. 🏡✅

Her favorite part of the league is the clothing room where you will find her serving. 👗👚

She is married and has one son. She serves as the Director of Nursing at Terra Bella in Shelby. 👩‍⚕️

A fun fact about her is her family is considered Cleveland County fair royalty. She also has identical twin sisters and they were all born in the same year. 🎡🎠

We are back with another Member Moment where we feature Junior Charity League members. At this time we would like to introduce you to Erin Montgomery. 🩷

Her birthday is August 15 🎉🎉 and she has began serving in the league this year.

She joined the league to be more involved in the serving the community and help others in need. 🏡✅

Her favorite part of the league is the social event and she joined after the Mardi Gras event.

She loves travel, is a nursing professor, and has two girls ages 9 and 12. ✈️ 👧👧

A fun fact about her is that she has been to 5 out of 7 continents and was a JCL debutante. 👰‍♀️

We are back with another Member Moment where we feature Junior Charity League members. At this time we would like to introduce you to Katie Trice. 🩷💙

Her birthday is May 2nd 🎉🎉 and she has been serving in the league 9 years. She is the chair of the clothing room and is a current board member.

She joined the league to help give back to the community and help others in need. She loves meeting other women that are here to serve. 🏡✅

Her favorite part of the league is that she enjoys helping with the Clothing Room but she loves the social events and selling poinsettias with Santa. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

She loves the outdoors and has a wonderful husband and daughter. She loves exploring and traveling. ✈️

A fun fact about her is that she does not like staplers and they also do not like her.

We are back with another Member Moment where we feature Junior Charity League members. At this time we would like to introduce you to Meredith Royster. 🩷

Her birthday is November 9th 🎉🎉 and she has been serving in the league 8 years. She has had many roles including most recent 2024 to 2025 League president and is a current board member.

She joined the league to help give back to the community. The league directly impacts people in the community and she wanted to help people in the area get the resources they need. 🏡✅

Her favorite part of the league is that she enjoys helping with the Clothing Room but all of the events are unique and provide members with a chance to connect and serve others. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

She is a high school social studies teacher and she enjoys coaching men's and women's high school tennis. 📕📒🎾

A fun fact about her is that she enjoys sports, home/interior design and reading. 🏓🏅
