👚👚 Often I’m asked what do you do as a member of the league and why would I want to get involved? There are many roles that make the clothing room work and we will share what a buyer and a clothing shift worker both do.

This is our main mission, to see Cleveland County students served with warm, current styled, durable clothing.

🥳🥳 Personally I am honored to be a buyer for the clothing room and have been for a few years.

👕👕 This is one of many roles that help to make sure clothing the children is a success.

📣📣 When I’m not planning our social post or working on the website you will find me in charge of a section in the girls area. We work to select current trends of clothing that the children and parents would approve of. We also ensure that it is stocked so there is a selection as it’s the children’s role to choose. This is just one of the reasons I joined, to see happy children choose clothing for themselves they feel confident in.

👕👕 We are entrusted to keep a certain item stocked with name brands, to make sure the sizes are available, and to keep things organized for the sisters that work with the kids directly.

Here’s a snippet of a month for me:

✅ Order online sizes needed or shop in person
✅ Work with our chair to ensure anomaly sizes are accounted for the week the child will arrive and they are age appropriate
✅ When sizes arrive sort them by the size and ensure tags are present
✅ Take them and stock up the area so they are easy to find on a busy shift and placed neatly in sections
✅ Take your kid for laughs and moral support or your husband to carry the heavy boxes as there can be eight or more in busy weeks
✅ Keep up with allotted amount and look for sales to ensure we manage the money to be a success while finding name brands!
✅ Keep an organized log to submit to ensure we are budgeting as annual needs and pricing changes as well as planning for growth

If this sounds like something you would like to support you can contact us to find out more.

Get involved. Volunteer, Give, and Share. You never know what future lawyer, doctor, welder, or business woman or man you are supporting.

We absolutely could not do our Poinsettia sale without these amazing girls who continue to serve for many years now including the upcoming season.

The gwulax never ceases to amaze us as they help each year unload thousands of poinsettias all with laughter and a smile despite any cold weather. They are a true joy!

Make sure to check them out this season and contact us to get a poinsettia or two! Tell them thank you if you happen to see them!

They are red, white, and pink and 25 each. Large poinsettias like the ones at Disney.

Poinsettias money is due October 30.

There are busy moments in life. We all get caught up in the to dos. We often stress about the little things. But spending time in the coat room weekly is a privilege and honor to us and it reminds often that there are wonderful moments to slow down for.

We get many thank you cards and we must protect identity but wanted to share a few from members.

You can make a difference. Join the league, donate, buy a poinsettia or attend an event this year. 100 percent proceeds go to clothing the children of Cleveland County.

Hello friends! We are back with another fun fact about poinsettias. As a certified Cleveland County Master Gardner program member I set out to find out if poinsettias are really poisonous last year and once again want to remind you they are not.

🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺

During the holiday season many wonder whether their pets might be harmed if they chew on Poinsettia plants.

Many websites include Poinsettia in lists of toxic plants but if you read further reputable sites, those associated with poison control centers or universities, will usually mention that is a skin irritant or has very low toxicity to animals.

🐶🐾🐶🐾🐶🐾🐶🐾🐶🐾🐶🐾🐶🐾

According to Purdue University Department of Agriculture:

"Poinsettias fill homes with color during the holidays. Poinsettias have received bad publicity in the past whereas in fact, poinsettias are not very toxic to pets. They do contain a milky sap that can irritate the mouth but if signs develop they are usually mild.

However it is important to note mistletoe CAN be very toxic to animals.

🐱🐈‍⬛🐱🐈‍⬛🐈🐱🐈‍⬛🐱🐈‍⬛🐈🐱🐈‍⬛🐱🐈‍⬛

Some cats that chew on the leaves may salivate and can vomit if the leaves are swallowed. Since cats and puppies frequently chew on new plants introduced to the home, it is prudent to place the plants out of reach!

🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺

Preorder yours today! Still unsure if you want to take the chance, these plants are perfect gifts or you can donate and we will deliver the plant to someone in your place to make them smile!

If this is you comment sold but give mine to someone. ❤️🌺

We are so excited for another season to give back to our community. Thanks to donors like you, sustainers, and current league members we are gearing up for a fabulous season. 🥳🥳

If you have ever wondered what clothing a child consist today I want to provide a little information. 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️

Working with local schools privately and respectfully we want to ensure that those who need warm clothing and hygiene supplies are provided for. Last year we were able to clothe 693 children. Seeing the happiness this brings has impacted my life greatly creating a passion to share! The smiles and laughter on those days warm hearts as this is an important and for many kids their favorite day of the year! ❤️❤️

This year we have increased our goal to help 800. This means projects, sales, and donations and actively sharing our mission, vision, and values.

Every time you donate these children receive your full amount. They get a full sets of clothing, underwear, socks, winter coats and toiletries that are not always easily provided despite hard working households. For more information message here or check out our website www.jclshelby.com

🥳 🥳 It’s another beautiful season start for our Cleveland County Junior Charity League chapter and we couldn’t be more excited.

What has happened since the season started back up?

✅ We welcomed in new ladies passionate to begin work. 17 new members and one our our biggest provisional groups in a long time! Thank you for sharing our mission and selecting our league to serve with!

✅ We discussed last years clothing of 693 county children with a goal of 800 this year. 2024 to 2025 we clothed 613 so there is a steady increase and we couldn’t be more thrilled to participate in an important need.

✅ We heard of exciting projects to come starting with our Poinsettia fundraiser that you can begin to watch for information on all month. Don’t want to buy a plant? You don’t have to be a business to be a donor. Look for our post on ways to connect and give and visit our website.

✅ We have worked weeks worth of shifts clothing over 300 children of our current 800 goal.

As you are learning who we are and what we do, many ask us how can we help?

🗣️🗣️ Check us out on our website, follow our socials, support the fundraisers, or donate! If you can’t afford to donate share our page and our post. We have almost 2300 on face book and in the 500 range for Instagram and this is just a small selection of our community.

Always we would like to point out that 100 percent of all funds go to clothing children right here in Cleveland county.

Make sure to select favorites for our page so that you don’t miss anything! We value your partnership to make this the best year yet!

We had the best time raising money and awareness for Junior Charity League with all our friends Friday night.

Thank you to all that came & to the sponsor Halcyon Salon !

Carrie and the community team put in so much hard work in the sun selling balls for the dunk tank.

Thank you to Berry Business Systems for the hilarious fun of the dunk tank & a special thank you to Jan Roddy Blanton and the Greenbrook Design community for letting us be a part and planning.

With your help we raised $1265 to clothe the children of Cleveland County. Together we lead. Together we love.

We hope you will join us next year for another fun time! ⚾️ ♥️
