Your voices matter! Thanks to the advocacy of our students, parents, alumni, residents, and SBREA members, we had a win tonight. Despite the actions of the school committee originally voting down the budget tonight in a 5-4 vote that did not meet the required three-fourths majority, the voices of the students, the community, the alumni, and the faculty speaking on behalf of our district encouraged a motion to revote. This revote resulted in a unanimous yes from the school committee to approve the current school budget and avoid going to a 1/12th budget where the state can take over decision-making and spending in the district. We know this is not the budget we all wanted, nor was this process perfect by any means, but it is a win at this 11th hour. Your attendance at the rally, online, and in person did this. This is your win! Thank you!

A sincere thank you to each and every member of our community who came out to support and elevate us during our rally last Thursday. The community of this district is what makes it so very special!
Please join us in person or online at the special school committee meeting tomorrow at 6:30pm where the school committee will be voting to adopt the budget and put it forth to the towns.

A yes vote prevents further potential cuts. Please join us in wearing and supporting the future of this district!

Come share your voices and show your support at a rally for public education!
Thursday, May 28th. 4pm. Sheffield Campus Community Entrance.
More than 23 positions are being lost during a difficult budget process. Join us outside at 4pm before the school committee votes on next year's budget. We care about the impact these cuts will have on students. Every position matters.
