Thanks to Mrs. P's second grade class at Faith Christian Academy for inviting us in to talk about CITIZENSHIP last week. What a great bunch of students! Talked about "with FREEDOM comes RESPONSIBILITY", voting, words in the Pledge of Allegiance, and lots of good stuff! Students received an OUR COUNTRY's FLAG comic book and a Citizenship Worksheet placemat.

"Many hands make the work light." Thanks again to all who supported the Sharpsburg Elementary School beautification project. The cost was $684.59, and folks have donated $330 towards the cost so far already, not to mention the sweat equity put in. Special thanks to Brian Hose of Sharpsburg Pharmacy, Peggy Burgan Showe of Battleview Market, Amy & Kathy Godwin Fasulo, Darrell Lake, Aaron, Cam, Scarlett & Nicole Twigg, John & Vicky Bonner of Bonn Art Studio, the lady with her three boys whose husband is a Veteran & the entire Lowe Family Stephanie Lowe, along with our project manager, my dear husband Dwayne Harris, who accepted my idea of this project in the first place. Hopefully this is the last time that we will have to spend any money on this project& WCPS will take it from here. Any further donations can be made on our website thru PayPal or a check to CAWAT, P.O. Box 555, Sharpsburg, MD 21782. God Bless you one & all!

Good morning. We saw a person walking a large dog at the MAS & Veterans Memorial Park on South Church Street around 10 am this morning. I am not accusing anyone of letting their dog do their business in the park, but there is a sign asking people respectfully not to walk their dogs in the park. Dog smells do attract other destructive animals and insects to the park. We will be sprucing up the park soon in preparation for Memorial Day. Please, if you see someone walking their dog in the park, ask them politely to abide by the posted sign over by the town shed. Thank you.

When you are worried about your family & the state of our country, what do you do? Put a little love in your heart! Thank you Sharpsburg Elementary for having us over for a chat about National Symbols & The Pledge of Allegiance. We were able to leave goodies bags with the kids filled with patriotic items thanks to our favorite Marine Mr. Ernie Wetterer and the Corporal Ernie Pledge Program!

Dropped off last week to the Martinsburg VA Medical Center Light House wing - 15 blankets and 15 beanies. So far, the CAWAT team has contributed 155 beanies and 60 blankets handmade to the Light House ward since Sep'23. Many thanks to the hands that made the work light! Looking to partner with local senior homes that house Veterans and First Responders who could use a hand made hug. :-)

CAWAT Act of Random Kindness (ARK) for Boonsboro Middle School 7th grade English class - 25 pencils packs with 3 pencils, big eraser & a notepad. Some of the teachers say that students are always running short on pencils. So, we also gifted 50 pencils more to hand out as needed. Students working mostly on Chrome Books-they forget to have pencils on hand. LOL We challenge you to do an ARK of your own this Friday!
