We send all checks directly to the recipient's institution, and they are mailed approximately by May 1.

Applications are closed, but there's so much you can be doing to prepare for the next cycle.

Keep your GPA up: To apply for the scholarship, your academic credits must average to a "B" or higher. Finish out this spring semester strong to ensure you're a strong applicant for 2027.

P.S. Students with higher academic averages and greater financial need are given priority in each application cycle. Keep those grades up to have a higher chance of receiving scholarship money next year.

In 1953, Tyrus "Ty" Cobb was able to establish the Ty Cobb Educational Fund.

Today, Ty Cobb and other generous donors' contributions have led to the educational success of many students across Georgia.
