This playgroup was established on January 17, 2007 in the town of Walpole. The purpose was simple: to provide playgroups and activities scheduled during evening and weekend hour
s as well as an easy way for working moms to get together and offer one another support and friendship. was registered as a nonprofit corporation with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts providing the ability to develop chapters and enhancing connections to moms, families and children in many communities. The WMPlaygroup, Inc. currently has one chapter in the Norwood/Walpole area and hopes to provide support to many more mothers with the creation of additional chapters. Geographic Region
The Working Mom’s Playgroup, Inc. (WMPlaygroup), is geared towards mothers residing in the towns of Norwood, Walpole, Sharon and the surrounding communities of Dedham, Westwood, Canton and Stoughton. We believe it is important for all mothers to foster relationships with fellow moms residing within their close community. Mothers who live outside this catchment area will be encouraged to work with the Working Mom’s Playgroup, Inc. to develop a chapter in her local area. Annual Dues

Connections:
We provide opportunities for moms, children and families to meet and develop relationships. These activities are the ‘core’ of the WMPlaygroup. Examples: Age-Based Playgroups, New Member Only events, Coffee Chat, Family events, Friday Play Dates and additional age-based play dates, Mom’s Night In (MNI), Mom’s Night Out (MNO), Cooking Together. Enrichment:
We provide opportunities which enrich the lives of mothers, families and children within our group as well as in the larger community. Examples: Book Chat, Arts and Crafts, Moose Hill Discovery Program, Parenting Workshops, Discussion Groups, etc. Health and Fitness:
We provide opportunities for members to engage in group activities based upon living a healthy lifestyle. Examples: Biggest Loser Challenge, Weight Loss Support, Couch 2 5K running group, Hikes, charity and team walks/runs, group fitness classes, etc. Community Outreach:
We provide opportunities for moms to support charitable, humanitarian and social welfare projects related to mothers, families and children and to teach children to think about the needs of others. Examples: Gifts for Kids, No Kid Hungry Bake Sales, Collection Drives (coats, Halloween Costumes, Non-Perishable Foods, etc.) Events:
We organize special and annual events. Examples: Family Halloween Costume Party, Vendor Event, Mom’s Only Winter Party, Summer Family Picnic, Mani/Pedi Night, Mom’s Weekend Away, etc. Communications
The Working Mom’s Playgroup, Inc. utilizes Meetup.com, private Facebook groups and personal email to communicate with Members as well as for Members to communicate with each other.
