Our community showed up for Fanta today—and we are deeply grateful. 💜🩷

Thank you to everyone who joined the Fanta Bility Foundation at the Sharon Hill Borough Hall for today’s Prayer & Reflection, commemorating five years since Fanta’s passing.

We are especially grateful to those who shared remarks: Sheila Carter, NAACP/FBF Secretary; Sharon Hill Borough Council President Tanya Allen ; Malcolm J. Yates of Delaware County Black Caucus ; Raven Horan, representing State Rep. David M Delloso; Kyle McIntyre representing UDTJ; Delaware County Chief of Detectives Erick Echevarria; and Fanta’s family and FBF leaders, Siddiq and Hadja Tenneh Kromah.

Special thanks to Rev. Freudeline St Jean for covering our gathering in prayer, and to FOX 29, 6abc, NBC10 Philadelphia and CBS Philadelphia for being present to help amplify Fanta’s story and the continued call for change.

Today was not only about remembering—it was also about what must happen next. We remain hopeful and steadfast in our call for meaningful action, including the police training necessary to help ensure that what happened to Fanta never happens to another child.

To everyone who stood beside Fanta’s family today, thank you for continuing to show them that they do not stand alone.

🚨 BREAKING NEWS: FANTA’S LAW EXPECTED TO RECEIVE A HOUSE VOTE IN EARLY OCTOBER! 🚨

On the 5th anniversary of Fanta Bility’s passing, we are encouraged to share an important update in the fight for meaningful change in her name.

Pennsylvania House Speaker Joanna McClinton has formally expressed her strong support for House Bill 1604 — Fanta’s Law — and shared that she expects the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to vote on the legislation in early October.

After years of advocacy, remembrance, and an unwavering call for action, this represents an important step forward.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Speaker Joanna McClinton for standing with the Fanta Bility Foundation and lending her leadership and support to this critical legislation. We also thank Rep. David M Delloso for his steadfast commitment to Fanta’s Law and for continuing to advocate among his colleagues to move this legislation across the finish line.

But our work is not finished. We will continue raising our voices, advocating and pushing until Fanta’s Law moves from the House to the Senate and is signed into law.

Five years later, we still remember and Fanta’s legacy is still creating change. 🦋💜🩷

Today, Fanta would be 13.5 years old - a teenager with dreams still unfolding, friendships still growing, milestones still ahead of her, and an entire life she deserved the chance to live.

There are no words that can measure what five years without a child means to a parent, a family, or a community.

Five years without her smile.
Five years without watching her grow.
Five birthdays that should have been celebrated.
Five years of wondering who she would be becoming….

So today, we simply remember Fanta - the little girl behind the name. We remember her joy and her kindness. Her promise and her innocence. And we say her name because her life mattered. The passage of time will never make her absence less profound.

Fanta should be here and we continue to pray that Fanta’s legacy will help bring about the change necessary to ensure that no other child, no other family, and no other community experiences what hers has endured.

We will continue to remember. We will continue to speak. We will continue to advocate.

And we will always carry her with us.

🎒💜 200 BACKPACKS. 200 CHILDREN. Countless moments of HOPE. 🩷

Today, the Fanta Bility Foundation’s 4th Annual Backpack & School Supply Giveaway was a tremendous success — all 200 backpacks were given out! 🎒🙌🏾

To every family who joined us, thank you for allowing us to serve your children in Fanta’s name. Your presence made today truly special, and we hope each backpack carries a little reminder of the love surrounding our community. 💜🩷

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible partners at Sharon Hill Borough Council for their support, volunteers, donations, and partnership. We are equally grateful to Southeast Delco School District and Principal Steven Silva of Sharon Hill Elementary School for welcoming us and helping make this day possible.

Thank you to our amazing volunteers, including our community volunteers and MTV Law family, as well as our donors Rep. Gina H. Curry, Sharon Hill Borough Council, and van der Veen, Hartshorn & Levin, for helping us provide supplies for our students.

We are grateful to the elected officials and representatives who came out to support our families, including Rep. Gina Curry, Raven Horan (David M Delloso), Rudy Taylor (Senator. Anthony H. Williams), Mayor Edward Brown, Mayor Mayor Joar F. K. Dahn, Sharon Hill Borough Council President Tanya Allen, and Philadelphia City Council President Kenyatta Johnson.

This time yesterday evening, we were wrapping up a powerful and beautiful milestone — the Fanta Bility Foundation’s Inaugural Gala. 💜🩷

Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, volunteered, and sponsored this special evening. We were honored to celebrate our distinguished honorees Senator Anthony Hardy Williams, Attorney Michael van der Veen, and Dr. Nathaniel D. Robinson, whose leadership and support have meant so much to the Foundation. We are also grateful to the elected officials who joined us and to and for helping share the story of this meaningful evening with the broader community.

The evening would not have been possible without our community supporters, emcee Thera Martin, and board members Siddiq Kamara, Tenneh Kromah, and Sheila Carter. Together, we were able to raise nearly $5,000 in the room during the gala, helping to sustain and expand the Foundation’s community initiatives!

Most of all, we celebrate the life and legacy of Fanta. The funds raised will help us continue serving families and uplifting our community through programs inspired by her kindness and generosity.

Her legacy lives on through this work. ✨🩷💜
