(02/06/2024)Seymour man accused of hitting 14-year-old girl in middle school crosswalk. Investigators say 55-year-old Brian Carpenter hit the girl with his vehicle Monday morning outside Seymour Middle School. COLUMBUS — Officers with the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department arrested three individuals, including two from Jackson County, on Tuesday on Level 4 felony charges of promotion of human sexual trafficking and Level 3 felony r**e.

That was followed on Wednesday by the arrest of a fourth individual on the same charges in Washington County with the assistance of officers from that county.

The four arrested on Bartholomew Circuit Court warrants were Brandon A. Jacobs, 37, of Jonesville; Christina Leann Moffatt, 27, and Christopher Scott Lovell, 41, both of Seymour; and Jon A. Arnold, 65, of Salem. All four are being held on $450,000 (10% cash) bonds at the Bartholomew County Jail in Columbus.
