Who we are and what we want to do...
The best way to explain what I would like to achieve is to know a bit of back story. Anthony Ricciardi Jr passed away at the young age of 43 from a blood clot. He left behind two sons. I am his younger son Asher’s mother Laurie. I wanted to create a way to honor his memory so that when his boys are older they can carry on this fund in his name as well.
Anthony was a big hearted guy with a loud laugh and an uncanny ability to speak to everyone. When he was younger he wrestled for Washington Twp Parks and Recreation in Sewell, NJ. He later wrestled for Washington Twp HS. He had many achievements and made life long friends. He was always aware of how sports impacted his life and the sacrifices his family made to give him these opportunities.
My idea was to create a fund that will help young athletes by contributing to the costs that are accrued. We will be able to start small and cover some registration fees and uniforms. For many families that struggle this will be a great help. And for the young wrestlers (like Anthony was) it may give them the same chance to create friendships and achieve their own dreams!
